Ugh.
I feel so tired. I feel emotionally drained, mentally drained, physically drained and I think my heart is running on fumes of unleaded gasoline. The tank hasn't been full in a while.
I feel like a ball of crap thrown at a brick wall, splattered into a bunch of tiny pieces.
God, I sound like a fucking "how to be goth" pamphlet.
Well, at leaaast the EP is getting some serious work in. "Hail To The King" is almost finished and will most likely get me a ton, a TON of negative press or at least it'll get people talking. I'm sure some people will think the track is crass. I'm sure others will think it's rude. Others will think I sympathize with the cause. Others, the minority, will be intelligent and understand that it fits in with the theme of the cover and the title and the other songs on the EP. "Your Only Love Is Yourself" isn't just a bunch of words that are nice. Yes, it's a line from the phenomenal Kenna song "New Sacred Cow", which everyone should listen to (off the album of the same name), but it's also a statement.
We've all met people that you can apply those five words to, and every song on this EP is about that. Every song is about a person you or I know that sometimes we just want to grab and say "you know what, the only fucking person you love is yourself!".
That, kids, is why I made this EP. The tracklist that was posted a while back? Doesn't exist anymore. The feel that I described of this being a melange of stuff? No. It's an angry album.
And I won't lie when I say that aside from a few tracks, like the first one, that refers to a historical figure, almost every song with lyrics is about someone I know. If you think about it you can figure it out, if you know me. And maybe, just maybe, a song is about you.
Hopefully Lindsey will debut on vocals on this album, after I give her a test run and see if she fits things. I'll be producing it myself, sans Mark - it's just something I need to do, crank it out and have it be done. FOTW needs the big attention. This is just something that has to get out of my head.
I will be releasing "Hail To The King" and "My Friend, My Enemy" somewhere within this month.
