Leaving the Triangle (drabble)
Riyu's POV
“Mummy, please stay healthy, and daddy too; take care of mummy well, okay? I’ll miss you both so much” I say to my mother and father as I hug them and vice versa.
“You too, my girl” they reply back in unison.
“Riyu, stay strong. I’ll always be by your side” my sister, Rielle says to me and hugs me.
Without informing me anything, a tear of mine drops on her right shoulder. “Thank you my only sister and I will.”
Then, I let go the hugs and head to the waiting area in the airport waiting for the boarding time of my flight flying to Sydney.
When I arrive there, I pull out my hand phone and go into message function and text down:
‘In the end, there has to be one who needs to leave this triangle. Don’t hurt her or else I’ll hate you to death - Riyu.’ and I send it to the person who has always held on that position on my mind until this day, Eunhyuk.
After that, I write another message, ‘Dear, my best friend Rai. He is yours and always be yours. Let’s stop this cool-war and we’ll see each other one day when we’re ready - Riyu.’
After finishing sending the messages, I just sit there in the middle spot of the area and keep thinking wisely - from the day I and Hyuk met each other until I fell for him and ended up with Rai knowing him as well.
It’s been a full month that I’ve tried - trying to forget you. I know it’s too wrong to love you, but I just can’t, I just can’t stop my heart from beating for you.
Even though I came into this triangle first, but this position in your heart has been destined not to be mine. It’s hers since the first place.
Probably, this is the only one way to let you go - to let our lives live a little easily. There is a person in your heart and there will never be a day that I can steal you from her - my best friend. I’m doing this for the better of us. I’ll be back to face you both once I’m ready.
After a while of wild thought, there is announcement to let all the passengers know that it's boarding time.
‘Riyu, after you walk across this line, another new life is waiting for you. Fighting, Riyu, you can do it” I say to myself, hold my hand-bag tight and walk into the airplane.
Finally, I can confidently walk out of this triangle.
