BlazBlue: Training

There are a number of things that I need to learn before the tournament next Saturday. A few of them can be learned in training, and I have a feeling that those will be easier. The rest of the things are breaking habits and learning to play better, which I have to do in battles, and which I doubt I will improve that much in by the tourney.

As far as training mode learning goes, I need to get 6A into my muscle memory, and find out if I can get into it from 2A or 2B. I'm losing far too many combos because I hit with one of those lows and then don't have anything to follow it up with; I do a tiny four hit combo, and then just kind of stop.

I need to work more on being able to get out of pressure. I'm pretty good at avoiding getting into it, but that's not good enough, since right now if someone starts pressure against me, I'm basically stuck. I also need to slow down when I'm doing combos. I'm rushing my inputs at points where I should be delaying them, and it means I have to cut short my combo and do a pretty pathetic air finisher. I was playing Burr last night and I didn't once pull off a full combo.

I also need to switch up my pressure strings. I've gotten in the habit of using 5A 5B 5C strings, and while this is a good pressure starter, there's an opening between 5B and 5C that people have begun to find. It's only really dangerous against Hakumen and Tager, but if other people know the string and can just block through it, they can usually shut me down. Basically, I know a few other strings that I haven't been using because they're "inferior" in some way: more dangerous or less guard libra damage. I need to start mixing those in, though, so that people won't know exactly what I'm doing the instant I start to put on pressure.

Also, Burr's Bang is full of pressure and guard points. It's pretty awesome.
