Chapter 14 A
It’s been months since the incident and Donghae is back to his attitude, ignoring Hyukjae. Hyukjae and Siwon get closer by that time, just as a friend. Not more than that.
Jessica has move in with Hyukjae and get a new job with Sungmin. She stays with them and help Hyukjae to look after Hana. Sungkyu always comes by at their apartment on the weekends and spend the night there.Hana has become an active and lovely child, especially when she sense something wrong with her mommy.
It was a long day at work. Hyukjae and Donghae get so busy. During that time, Hana decided to acting out. She sulks everyday, didn’t eat her meals properly, didn’t listen to what Hyukjae and Jessica told her. She was put on her timeout more than usual. Still, she didn’t behave. She cries all day long and didndt even want to go to the nursery.
One day, Jessica get so frustrated towards Hana’s behavior so she has no choice but to bring Hana to Hyukjae’s office. All the way there, Hana keep on crying and struggles on Jessica’s hold.
“I’m so sorry I have to come by. I don’t know what else to do.” Jessica said when she open the door. Both Hyukjae and Donghae look up at her direction.
Hana is already on the floor, crying her eyes out and hides her face with her palms.
“Hana,, what’s wrong?” Hyukjae approaches the crying child. “Why are you crying like this? Aunt Jessica will get worried you know.” Hyukjae try to reach her daughter but Hana just move away. That make Hyukjae sigh.
“Hana..It’s mommy.”
“I don’t want mommy…” comes Hana’s muffles.
Donghae who has been watching all the time finally decided to get up and gives Hyukjae some help. He tap on Hyukjae’s shoulder and ask her to move a little. Hyukjae feels a little bit embarrassed when Hana didn’t behave herself especially in front of Donghae. He probably think that she cant even take care of her little child.
“Hey, Hana. It’s uncle Hae.” Donghae crouch down so he can be at the same level as the child. “Aren’t you going to look at me?” He said again. Hana shakes her head. But she already stops crying.
“why? Now uncle Hae is sad. We haven’t meet for a long time and you don’t want to be friends with me anymore?” Donghae fake a sad voice.
Slowly, hana raise her head and take a peek at Donghae.
“That’s a good girl. Why are you crying Hana? You can tell uncle.”
Hana gets up on her feet and walks toward Donghae. She lightly hit his shoulder and start to cry again.
“Uncle don’t want to be Hana friend no more. Uncle never come by to play with Hana. And always busy. Uncle hates Hana.” She sobbed.
Hyukjae and Jessica look at each other. Jessica shrugged her shoulder saying that she really didn’t know Hana feels that way.
“I’m sorry, sir. I told her you’re busy and stuff. She.. I’m so sorry.. Hana..”
Donghae just held up his finger saying that it’s okay.
“Just like mommy said, Uncle is so busy lately and don’t really have time to play. I’m sorry, okay?” Donghae console the crying shild and hug her small body.
“But I can tell you this. I’m not really busy today. So do mommy so we can go out and play. What do you say?”
“*snif* Really?”
“but first you have to apologize to mommy and aunt Jessica for making them worry. And we can go after that.” Donghae turn Hana’s body around so she can face the two ladies.
Wiping her remaining tears, Hana said. “I’m sorry mommy,aunt Jessica. I wont do it again.”
“Don’t we get a hug too?” Hyukjae said and stretch her arms. Hana runs towards her and give her mommy a big hug. “I’m sorry mommy. I want to play with Uncle hae. Dont be angry at Hana.”
“Just promise mommy don’t do this again, okay, baby?” Hana tighten her hold and nod.
“Okay, lets go.”Donghae cut the mother and child moment.
“now??but..”
“I ask someone to cancel all my meeting today and re schedule. Don’t worry about it. Hana, what do you say if we go to the zoo first?”
“Zoo? I like zoo. Let’s go.” Hana wants Donghae to carry her up.
“I have to go. Sungmin didn’t actually give me permission to take a day off. So have fun all three of you. Hana, take a lot of pictures and tell me about this later, okay?”

Hana really enjoy her time with Donghae that day. She didn’t even try to talk to her mother just like she always did when she’s having a great time. Every little thing that she saw she will share it with DOnghae. She didn’t even bother to hold her mother’s hand. She really enjoys being carried by Donghae.
“So many animal. Just like on Hana wall.” She said excitedly. “Can we do this again tomorrow?” She ask with her round eyes.
“Hana, what did mommy tell you before. You cant disturb his time all you want. He has to work. And he is very busy.” Hyukjae said emphasizing the ‘very’ word. That make Hana pout.
“But I like playing with uncle Hae..” She whine; already on the verge of crying.
“Let me see. I cant promise we will play like this tomorrow but I will pick you up when I get free time. How is that?”
“But you said that last time too.” Hana continue to pout. “Hana..” Hyukjae didn’t really mean to raise her voice but Hana’s behavior is just wnet over board. That what she thought.
Hana hides herself in Donghae’s hugs.
“It’s okay, Hyukjae. I’m willing to spend time with her. Don’t have to get angry. She’s just a child.” Donghae cares Hana’s hair.
“I’m sorry, sir. I just don’t..”
“Don’t what?” Donghae raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t want you to think bad about me. I mean like using Hana or something..” Hyukjae look at the ground. She know she sound rude. Donghae is just wanna help but from her past experience with Donghae, who knows if Donghae will bring this up and attact her again.
Donghae sigh when he hear what Hyukjae just said. “Wow. I’m really that bad to you huh?” Suddenly, DOnghae’s mood went down. Hyukjae really don’t trust him. And to have hyukjae think that way make his heart hurt.
“I’m sorry.. I didn’t mean to..” Hyukjae want to apologise but Donghae cut her off.
“Don’t. I understand. Hana, if you stop crying, uncle will buy you ice cream.” Donghae can feel a nod fron his shoulder. And from that moment on, Donghae again treat Hyukjae like she’s not even there with them.

It’s already late when they arrive at Hyukjae’s apartment and Hana has fall asleep on Donghae’s arm. She refuse to be held by Hyukjae so DOnghae has to carry her to her house. They have to get back by taxi.
“It’s late and I’m not staying.” Donghae said when they are at Hyukjae’s door. He kiss Hanaon the cheek before giving the sleeping child to her mother but Hana’s hold on Donghae is a little too tight. Donghae has to carefully remove her hand from her shoulder.
When she’s alrealy on Hyukjae’s arm, she slowly starts to wake up. She blinks her eyes a couple of time.
”Uncle hae...” She rubbed her eyes cutely.
“Hey, angel. Go back to sleep. I see next time okay?”
Hana hasn’t fully awake yet. She manage to nod her head and stretch her arms; wanting to hug Donghae goodbye. Donghae gives her a little hug but Hana hug her a little more longer. It caused Donghae’s face to be so much closer to Hyukjae. Hyukjae gulp at the close proximity. She don’t want to look at Donghae’s eyes but the warm breath that she felt on her face make her to look up.
They stare deep into each other’s eyes. Hyukjae was drown in Donghae’s captivating orbs. So do Donghae. It wasn’t known to him that his body lean closer to Hyukjae. There’s no more room for Hyukjae to move away since she’s carrying Hana who is still hugging Donghae.
Donghae didn’t even blink once. He really mesmerize by Hyukjae’s beauty. This is the first time actually he sees Hyukjae closely and examine her features. Their lips were only inches apart when Hana decided to let go and hummed good night to DOnghae.
Hyukjae hurriedly step back and bow down to Donghae. Before she can even turn away, Donghae capture her wrist and pull her toward him.
“What are you doing to me?” Hyukjae can definitely see confusion in Donghae’s eyes. She is confuse herself. What does Donghae mean by that.
“Sir..i..” before Hyukjae can finish her sentence, Donghae let her go.
“Don’t bother. Just forget about what I ask. Good night.” And he walk away without looking back at Hyukjae.
Hyukjae remain in her place for a while. but when she feels Hana shivering in her arm, she get herself inside the house and tuck Hana in her bed. She kiss her goodnight and then proceed to her room. She take a glance at Jessica’s room and the light is out. Maybe Jessica is having her night shift. She sigh and get herself in bed. Donghae’s questions keep on repeating in her mind until she fall asleep.
On donghae, he didn’t go home straight away. Like always, he find the nearest bar and drank till he’s drunk. He manage to cast away Hyukjae from his mind but since today and after having those moment, no matter how much he tries, Hyukjae’s image isn’t going to disappear. He still remember the way Hyukjae look at him directly. How sweet her scent is. How beautiful she is when she’s blushing like that. The last resort that he can think of is to drink until he passed out.
