Summary: Desperate for Her daughter life, Hyukjae take a drastic decision to leave her boyfriend behind and start anew in a new city. She was hoping that her past will never haunt her. Her life starts to change drastically. She did find happiness but will she found love too?
Warning: Gender switch;Hyuk as a girl. And yes endless of grammatical errors..:)
Chapter 6
Ringggggggggggggggg
Hyukjae’s alarm went off. She hurriedly turns it off so she won’t be disturbing Hana and Sungkyu. She had been up all night just to finish her report that she has to submit that day. Not only that, her resignation letter is also ready seal in a white envelope. She will hand in both of the important things at once and head to Sungmin’s to get her previous job back.
Well Sungmin promise he will take her back after she quit her job with Donghae. She will make sure Sungmin will keep his promise since she can’t be jobless right now. She has a rent to pay. She has to keep Hana under a roof, warm clothe and have a very healthy food since her little Hana is still need to grow up.
She stretches her hands and legs; so she can get rid of her tiredness and sleepiness away.Then, she check on Hana who is still heavily sleeping on the bed and then take her shower. Hana too must be really tired because the little girl decides to stay up with her but end up sleeping on her lap late that night.
When she’s ready, she goes to the kitchen only to find the breakfast is ready. Sungkyu greet her with a smile.
“You look so tired, child. May be you should stay home for today. I can call your office for you.” Sungkyu pat on Hyukjae’s hair and fix her hair a little.
“It’s okay. Today is my last day. Maybe.” She shows the white envelope to Sungkyu. “Are you sure you want to quit. Where do you want to work after that?” Sungkyu ask her again.
“At the café. Like I used to. I know it is tiring but I am a lot happier there.” She said with her tired but bright smile. “As long as you’re happy, child.”

Hyukjae purposely come early to the office so that she won’t meet Donghae face to face. She neatly put the report that she had written on Donghae’s table and her letter on top of it. “This is it. It’s done.” Hyukjae exhale and for a moment she decide to look around the office.
Donghae is a very particular and neat person. She can tell by how Donghae organize his things on the table, his files, his stationary, and even all the books on the shelf. Donghae never let anyone else to touch his stuff. Not even the cleaner.
His office is so clean. Cleaner than some of the female employees. “He do have some positive energy in him. But how can he be so mean? Meaner than evil witches I’ve ever read in books.” Hyukjae keep mumbling with herself.
But then, her eyes land on two photo frames on his table. One is the photo of Donghae, Sungmin, and Soo young posing and smiling dorkily to the camera. “Hmm.. I don’t know he can be like this. He always serious and frowning; like he is carrying the weight of the world.” Hyukkjae poke on Donghae’s eyes repeatedly.
She put the frame down and saw a second photo frame but it was face down on the table. She looks at the door. Outside of Donghae’s office still dark and quiet. Slowly, her hand reaches down to the frame and turns it up. It was an old photo. Three person inside. A little boy, hugging and clinging to his mother. And there was a handsome man standing right next to him. The old man kinda look like Donghae. “May be this is his family.” Hyukjae said.
Hyukjae look closely at the photo. The little boy looks so happy. Smiling so brightly. Is this really Donghae?
The sound of the door opening make Hyukjae jump a little. She almost drops the frame on the floor. She hurriedly hide it behind her back afraid that it is Donghae who just walk in.
“Oh, sorry. Did I scare you? I thought nobody inside.” The ahjumma cleaner said. “Oh. I was just sending reports to Mr Lee. I’m leaving now.” Hyukjae bow to the ahjumma and place back the photo where it should belong.
She hurriedly walks out of the building and take a deep breath. “Finally. Yes. I’m free.” She walks around the place for a while before heading to Sungmin’s café.
“I’m backkkk!!!!” She shouted loudly as soon as she enter Sungmin’s place. “Huh? You’re back?” Yuri ask her back. At the moment, all of the workers are preparing to open the café. They are busy cleaning the café and organizing the tables.
“ Yes, I’m back. Sungmin said I can work here again once I quit my job.” She hugs Yuri tightly and spin her around. Sungmin walk out of his room when he heard a commotion outside.
“Hyuk? What are you doing here?”
“I quit. And you said you will take me back. You promise.” Hyukjae walk to Sungmin and give him her best puppy eyes look which she learns from Hana.
Sungmin sigh. “Donghae know about this?” Hyukjae nod her head fast. “He said you can go?”
“Uh… I left my letter on his desk. I haven’t met him yet.” Hyukjae let out an awkward smile. “Sit. If he let you off your work then I will take you back. He can sue me if I steal his employee. I’m not the one who will decide. Sorry, Hyukjae. You’re our first customer for today.” Sungmin pat her shoulder and walk back to his office.
“Why should he decide. He won’t sue you. You’re friends.”
Sungmin shrugged his shoulder and ignore Hyukjae. Yuri and the others give her a sympathy look. “Hey, you can recommend me to replace you. I’m willing to work with him.” Yuri said. “No, he’s evil. I won’t let you work with that evil man. All he did was torturing me from morning till night.” Hyukjae bang her head on the table. “Please let me go.” She said; clasping her fingers tother, hoping that Donghae can hear her from his building.

Few hours later, Sungmin call Hyukjae to his office. “For you.” Sungmin hand her the phone.
“Hello?” She answers the call nervously. She kinda knows who is on the other line.
“Come to the office now. We have to settle this.” Just like that, the call was ended.
“Did you call him and tell him I was here?” Hyukjae gives Sungmin a suspicious look. “No, He call me since he can’t reach you on your cell.”
Hyukjae check her cell phone and it was turn off. “Urgh! I forget to recharge my phone it is out of battery. ”
“Here. Use mine. Go back to the office.” Sungmin hand her his charger and signal her to go to Donghae’s office.
Hyukjae walk back to Donghae’s office with heavy steps. She decides to walk so that she will have more time of peace before Donghae can make her feel worst for that day.
When she arrives, the former receptionist is sitting at her place. “He’s waiting for you. You better be hurry.” Hyukjae nod but she surely taking her time. She recharge her phone and told the lady to look after it while she meet Donghae.

Donghae was facing the view outside the building when Hyukjae enter the office. She silently waits by the door.
“Come in and close the door.” Hyukjae obediently do what Donghae told her.
“I’ve read your report. You’re improving.”
Huh? Okay, that’s new. “Thank you.”
“Take it back. And those. As usual read it and make a report out of it. Make an analysis of the company financial throughout last and this year.” Donghae give Hyukjae’s letter back to her. “I don’t know what it is. I don’t want to know. I’m not letting you go.” Donghae start to do his job.
“But you told me. You told everybody that I’m not good enough. It’s better if I quit. Beside, you hate me for sure. If you keeping me just because you want to mess with my life, I rather leave.” Hyukjae said.
“Are you done? Go do your work or you won’t have you pay as the same day as everybody else.”
Donghae said without looking at her.
“See. That is my point. Why keeping me here if I you don’t really need me. I bet Sungmin need me more.” Finally, Donghae look up and face Hyukjae.
“Actually I’m busy today. So I need you to do what I request you to do. I don’t have time for this.”
“You told me yesterday I may be dangerous. I didn’t live up to your expectation. Why bother keeping me here?” Hyukjae know she shouldn’t have said anything else. But her mouth just won’t shut up. Seems like her mouth is really not taking her order anymore.
Donghae walk out of the chair and make steps forward to Hyukjae. When he is close enough, he didn’t bother to stop his tracks. “Sir??” Hyukjae starting to get nervous. Clearly Donghae is smirking at her. She then takes a step backward when she notice Donghae isn’t stopping.
When Hyukjae was trapped in between a smaller table than Donghae’s desk and Donghae’s body, she start to feel shiver down her spine. Oh-oh. Too close.
“You really want me to torture you when I am letting you go and have your peace? You actually want me to make you suffer? I can do that.” Donghae’s voice comes out so low and husky.
Hyukjae can’t help but to blush. “No, I mean..”
“So why keep questioning me when I decide not to tease you that much? You’re asking for it?” Donghae tease her more. He leans closer. Hyukjae have to turn her head aside. She can feel Donghae’s breath tickling her skin then to her ear. ”Boo..”
Hyukjae yelp and she blush more. Donghae finally move away from her and laugh out loud. “You look funny.” He said while laughing.
“You..” Hyukjae’s face is more than red. Her heart rate probably is going so high. “I let you go for now. Doesn’t it feel good when you finally can say what you want to say to me? I was waiting for your outburst. And yesterday it’s happen. Congratulation!!” Donghae return to his seat.
Hyukjae was about to burst again. But after he listens to what Donghae said, her anger vanishes. “You do all those things just to pissed me off and make me angry at you?”
“Obviously. I mean, you need to fight for your right. Don’t you agree? Anyway, you still have to work down there. You just need to prove yourself a little bit more. The world is tough so there’s no need for me to be nice since beginning. You pass the first two tests. Last one I will decide myself.”
“Test??”
“Enough with the questions. Now do your job.” Donghae points the files on his desk. Hyukjae bow and take the files away.
For the first time since her first day she finally can focus on one job at a time.
Even though Donghae haven’t bother her at all that day, still she can’t finish her work when the time pass 5 in the evening. She sighs. “Another late night at work.”
She already used to work past office hours. It is already 9 o’clock when she finally finish her report. She prints them out and put it neatly in a file. She pats her own shoulder. “Good job.”
“Praising yourself. That is awkward.” A voice interrupts her personal victory moment.
“Sir, I thought you already left.”
“Follow me. Some meeting to attend.” Donghae as usual didn’t give her enough time to pack up. Lucky for her this time, she doesn’t have to bring all those heavy files.
The meeting is held in one of fancy restaurant. Hyukjae has to write down the important details and like what happen before; she gives her opinion when she was ask to.

“You always have meeting after working hours? Aren’t you tired at all?” Hyukjae ask Donghae when the meeting has ended. “It is better to make the relationship stronger. Beside nothing’s waiting for me back home.” The last sentence comes out as a mumble. “Huh?”
“Nothing.” Donghae switch his gaze to the centre of the restaurant.

Hyukjae is enjoying her desert. She didn’t realize that Donghae is staring at her right now. Donghae hide his smile with his palm when Hyukjae sometimes squealing alone with the heavenly taste of her desert.
The beautiful view was cut off when Hyukjae phone rings.
Fishing her phone out of her bag, Hyukjae take another bite of her desert. “Ahjumma?”
Donghae can clearly someone is screaming over the phone. Hyukjae sweet smile turn to a worry face. “What? Where is she? Where are you both?”
Another screaming come from the phone but Donghae can’t make out what has been said. “I’ll be right over.”
Hyukjae gather all her things and bow to Donghae. “I have to go. Thank you for dinner?” Hyukjae clumsily run off the restaurant, continuously knocking all objects and people that block her way.
Worried that Hyukjae, herself might get hurt, Donghae run fast to catch up to her. Apologizing along the way.
“What happen?”
“I really have to go. She needs me.” Hyukjae said panickly.
“Hyukjae, calm down. You have to go where?” Donghae shakes her shoulder when Hyukjae didn’t say anything to him but only cried. “Hyukjae!!”
“Hospital. I need to go to the hospital.”
Donghae firmly hold hyukjae’s hand and drag her to his car. He didn’t waste any time but speed his car to the hospital.
