Chapter 23

“There’s something else.” His eyes dig into Hyukjae’s orb so lovingly.

“Huh?” Hyukjae’s eyes dart to the flowers and there he can see a little thing shine in between the flowers. Curiously, his hand reach down to get the little tiny things, but carefully not to mess the flowers. Once he has the little thing, his eyes went wide. He looks at Donghae again.
Chuckling to Hyukjae’s reaction, Donghae start to explain himself.

“I’m not taking any chances. I don’t want to lose you twice, so I want you to officially be mine. With this ring, you are now My Hyukkie. And with this ring you can’t just run away like that again. Not without my permission. Will you marry me, Lee hyukjae?”

Sungmin gasped and cover his mouth. Donghae is now on his knee, holding Hyukjae’s hand and the ring. Hyukjae still in his shock state; he just stare at Donghae with his wide eyes.

“Marry, me Hyukkie.” Donghae say again. Still Hyukjae haven’t give him any answer. Not only Donghae, Kyuhyun and Sungmin are waiting for Hyukjae’s answer too. And they have actually attract attention from others as well. Worried form the silent he receives from Hyukjae, Donghae move closer and kiss him on the lips.

Hyukjae didn’t reply his kiss for a moment, when Donghae start to move his lips, Hyukjae close his eyes and kiss him back. Happy with the reply he get, Donghae pull away. Hyukjae is still in daze.

“Now tell me, princess. Will you marry me?”

Hyukjae smile and slowly nod his head. “Yes. I love too.”

Donghae hug him so tight and then put the ring on Hyukjae’s finger. He kisses him again. They have to stop when they hear claps and cheers from everybody in the restaurant. Donghae and Hyukjae bow shyly at them.

When everybody has settle down, Donghae interwine his hand with Hyukjae. Sungmin and Kyuhyun congratulate them and then, a waiter comes to the table with a bottle of wine.

“It’s a little gift from the house. Congratulation.” The waiter said, and leave them so they can celebrate.

“Hyukkie, stay in my place. Your room is still available. Move in back with me.” DOnghae said; giving his famous puppy eyes on Hyukjae.
Before Hyukjae can answer, Sungmin cut him off.

“No, mister. You two better have a space before you’re getting married. It will make your first night as husband and wife more special.” Sungmin said as he claps his hand together.

“But you can’t stop Hae from having a little piece of Hyukjae.” Kyuhyun point something on Hyukjae’s neck. He didn’t realize that Kyuhyun can see marks on his neck.

“What?! You didn’t?” Sungmin try to defend Hyukjae but when he too sees the mark, he let out a sigh.

“Yah!! You have to wait until you’re married. Oh, my baby Hyukjae is not a baby anymore.” Sungmin cried. “Hyung… Not too loud.”

“Okay, mister. I’m going to watch you from now on. I know you’re getting married but please be patient. Oh, when will you be married?” Sungmin ask Donghae.

“Two weeks from now.” Donghae answer him casually. All three of the men almost spit out their water and food out of their mouth.

“Two weeks? Are you insane? There are a lot to be done. You don’t think you can pull a perfect wedding ceremony in just two weeks, right?”
“It’s in two weeks, hyung.” Donghae said firmly. “I hope you don’t mind.” He said again and looks at Hyukjae.

“But, Hae. It’s too soon. So many things have to be prepared.”

Donghae hold his hand. “Don’t worry. Everything is under control. Tell Siwon and the others. Everything will be just fine. I promise.”
“The way you’re saying this as if like you have already plan everything.” Sungmin look at Donghae with his eagle eyes.

“Help Hyukjae to find the right dress, hyung. Please?”

“Why do I have to wear a dress?”

“Because you’re beautiful and you will be my wife.”

Hyukjae announce his engagement with Donghae the next day to Siwon and the others. They cheer on him for the good news. And he decide to give their customers that morning free meals.

The happy news was also heard by Yoona who accidentally was in the café that morning. She cursed silently and stays hidden in the café. She stares at the man who she thought steal the love of her life. He fist her hand and walk silently to the said man when he was alone.
She follows Hyukjae when Hyukjae walk out of the café with a big of plastic fill with rubbish in his hand.

“You filthy little rat!!” She spun Hyukjae’s body around and slap him hard on the face. Hyukjae stay silent mainly because he was so shock because of the sudden attack.

“You!! How could you!! Donghae was mine to begin with!! You stole him from me!!” She slap him again. Harder this time. “You had his love. And then you leave him!! Just like that!!And now you return and you can have him back???!!! You should never come back!!!!” Slap.

“He was mine!! And then you come along!!You’re freaking nobody!!! You’re filthy whore!!” Slap!

“He will regret choosing you over me!! I’ll make sure of it!! Don’t you know that you don’t deserve him? You’re dirty whore who was beated and raped by your own father!! How can you face him??!! Someone else has touched you!! You’re nothing compared to Donghae!! I know he did this because of pity not love!!! You don’t have the right to be love!!! You dirty little son of a b*****!!!” Yoona end her insult with more slaps on Hyukjae’s face and throw the rubbish on Hyukjae’s body.

Hyukjae remain there. Doing nothing. Slowly, his tears start to roll down his face. Slowly, what Yoona said sink in his head.

He is dirty. Someone else has touched him. He’s no good for Donghae. Donghae deserve someone way more than him. His legs started to feel like a jelly as his strength suddenly left him. He fall on his knees and stare at his ring. His engagement ring. He hugs his knees and cry his heart right there.

Siwon was happen to be outside of the café, just to have a breather. He stretch his hand ups and do some light exercise on his tired body. When he was about to get inside the café, he saw Yoona walking out of the alley next to their café.

From the girl’s face, he knows she must have done something. When he can’t see yoona anymore, he hurriedly run to the ally and saw crying Hyukjae on the ground.

“Hyuk?” he approach the crying man. Hyukjae flinched away when Siwon touch his shoulder. “Hyuk, what’s wrong?” Siwon tilt Hyukjae’s head up so he can he his friend eyes.

Hyukjae’s face was swollen and red. “Hyukjae, what happen?”

Hyukjae cry again. “I’m a nobody.” He said, sobbing. “I don’t deserve him, Siwon. I’m dirty.” Siwon can’t stand looking at his devastated friend. He pull him in a hug. “You’re not nobody. You’re Hyukjae. My friend. You’re Donghae’s fiancé, Sungmin hyung and Kyuhyun Hyung brother. You’re Heechul brother too. You’re now manage the café and everybody love you.” Siwon try to calm Hyukjae’s down.

But the way Hyukjae responding, he knew Hyukjae is not listening to his every word. He takes his phone out  and dial Heechul’s number. He request for her to come to their place and take Hyukjae Home. Then he call Sungmin and Donghae. He didn’t forget to let Kyuhyun know too.

After sending Hyukjae home, he tells the worker what happen and told them to take care of the café for a while without him and Hyukjae.
He rush to Hyukjae’s place. When he get there, Sungmin is already there as well.

“Siwon, what happen to Hyukjae?” Sungmin ask Siwon. He never see Hyukjae break down like that.

“I don’t know. When I found him, he already like that. I ask him what happen what all he said was he’s dirty, he’s not worth it. And he said he’s a nobody.” Sungmin sigh.

“I saw Yoona walk out from the place where I found Hyuk.” Siwon said again.

“Yoona?” Sungmin haven’t heard anything from her for a while.

“Yes. I know she must be the reason why Hyuk’s like that.” Their little chat comes to a stop when Heechul come out of Hyukjae’s room. “He’s resting. He was a mess. What happen? I never seen him so broken. He’s like in his own world.”

All of them just sigh. They had lost in idea of how to help Hyukjae. They know the only one who can make Hyukaje better is Donghae. Only Donghae.

Hyukjae has fall asleep in the room. Sungmin and Heechul take turn to check on him. Siwon goes back to the café and he decided to close early today. The other worker agree. They too can have an early rest.

When everything has settle, Siwon rush back to Hyukjae’s apartment. He decided that he will stay there tonight. Just in case if Hyukjae get worst.

When the night come, Donghae and kyuhyun arrive. Donghae hurriedly want to get to Hyukjae but Sungmin stop him. Donghae must at least listen first to what had happen to Hyukjae.

Siwon again tell DOnghae and Kyuhyun what he know. “I didn’t really know what happen but I guessing Yoona must have say something harsh to Hyukjae. His face was swollen and red. I think she slap him as well. He didn’t say anything to me. He just break down in front of me. I don’t know what should I do. I ask for Heechul to bring him back home.”

Donghae really lost of word. He didn’t think Yoona can actually go that far. “Thank you. For taking care of him. I will talk to him.” Donghae smile and head to Hyukjae’s room.

The other four person remain in the living room. All of them has decided that it is best for them to stay.

Donghae slowly open the door, afraid that he might wake Hyukjae up. But the said person is peacefully sleeping on his bed. Then he carefully get under the blanket. Silently watching the sleeping man. he wipes the tears that had been rolling down Hyukjae’s face and kiss his eyes before he peck on Hyukjae’s lips.

He carefully place his arm under Hyukjae’s neck and his other hand snake around Hyukjae’s waist bringing his body closer. He kiss him again. Slowly whispering love words to the sleeping angel.

Hyukjae starts to wake up. He open his eyes and he was welcome by an angelic smile from Donghae. He didn’t look at him for long. He quickly turns his gaze on his bed.

“Hey, you there. I miss you.” Donghae said and kiss his forhead. Hyukjae remain silent.

“Siwon told me something happen to you today.” Hyukjae want to break free from Donghae’s hug but he couldn’t. Donghae is holding him so tight.

“Hyukkie, never doubt my love for you.” DOnghae said so suddenly and rub Hyukjae’s back. “I love you for who you are. Believe me when I said that.”

The cry that Hyukjae want to hold finally out again. He sobs loudly. Couldn’t hold back his hurt feeling inside.

“It’s okay to cry. I’m right here with you.” Hyukjae clutch on Donghae’s shirt as if his life is depend on it.

“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry.” Hyukjae said.

“Shh.. There’e nothing to be sorry about, Hyukkie.” Donghae let Hyukjae cried in his hold. If cry can make Hyukjae feel a little better he will let him and wait till he calm down.

Almost half an hour, finally Hyukjae stop sobbing but he is still crying. Knowing Hyukjae had calm down, Donghae move away a little and look at Hyukjae’s face.

“You want to tell me what happen to you?” Hyukjae shakes his head. “Hyukkie, I can’t help if you don’t tell me what’s going on.” Donghae begged.

“I think you have to think again about marrying me.” Hyukjae said after a moment of silent.

“Why is that?” Donghae wipe Hyukjae’s tears and wait for his answer.

“Because, I’m Hyukjae. I’m Hyukjae, Donghae. You know what happened to me. You deserve so much more than a person like me. I’m..”
Before Hyukjae can say anything else, Donghae already kiss him. He won’t let Hyukjae say it. Hyukjae is special for him. Hyukjae is someone he loves.

“”Look at me, baby.” Donghae take Hyukjae’s right hand and place it on his chest. Just like Hyukjae did to him in the past.

“You feel that? It happens only when I’m with you. It happens only when me, Donghae is with you, Hyukjae.”

“Hae…” Hyukjae tears start to fall again. Donghae kiss them away. Every drops of his tears.

“You are Hyukjae. Lee Hyukjae. Whom I fall in love with. I love you. And always will. I’m sorry for what happened to you in the past. I really do. But, if it hadn’t happen, I probably won’t found you. I probably wouldn’t know you like I do now. I love you no matter what had happen. I do love you. Feel me, Hyukkie.” Hyukjae buried his face on Donghae’s chest.

“No matter what people say, I love you. You’re my angel. You are my love, Hyukkie. Please believe me. I don’t know what happen. What she said. You have to trust me. Not her. I will never ever hurt you, Hyukkie. You understand me?” Donghae said. “Don’t listen to her. Not ever. Okay?” Hyukjae nod. He is feeling a little better.

He know he shouldn’t listen to her. But he can’t let it past. He can’t lie about his past. He can’t pretend that nothing bad happen in his past. His past will haunts him forever. Hearing them from someone else is more like being hit by a truck. It hurt him. very much.

“You have to fight too, Hyukkie. Don’t let her hurt you anymore. You have to be strong. You have to let go of the past. It’s for your own good. You have to love yourself for who you are. Deep down in there I know you are strong. Because you are my Hyukkie.” Donghae look Hyukjae straight in the eyes and smile lovingly at him. “Okay?”

“How did you know?” Hyukjae ask Donghae.

“Siwon saw her when she walk out of the alley. Where he found you. Let’s get married fast. I don’t care if it’s not a grand wedding. All I need is you by my side.” Donghae said.

“Feeling better?” Hyukjae nod his head again. “I’m sorry, for..” *chup*

“Don’t be sorry. Go wash up. Let’s eat. I’ll wait for you outside.”

Hyukjae do as Donghae said, head to the bathroom and have a very long shower.
