Summary: Hyukjae was saved when his father was murdered. That is when he come across with Donghae and Kyuhyun. Up to that moment his life starts to change
Chapter 20
“Noona, I’m tired. We should go home. My legs are going to break soon.” Hyukjae whine.
“Okay. Just one more place. Last one. I promise.” Heechul keep dragging Hyukjae’s forward. “But you keep saying that few hours ago.”
“It’s really the last. Now stop whining and walk.” They stop at Men’s attire boutique. The place looks expansive.
“Woah, noona. You can afford these? All of them look so expensive.”
“Yes I can. Now I already choose some shirts. Go on and try them.” Heechul said.
“Me? I can’t afford these.” Hyukjae protest.
“Who said you’re paying. GO on and I’m going to decide what’s good on you and what’s not.”
They spend few more hours in the store. Heechul only bought him couple of clothes and long pants. “You will look great when you report to work. Okay. Dinner time.”
Hyukjae sigh in relieve. Finally the shopping part is done. Siwon is sure right. He really use all his energy for shopping today. They choose western food for their dinner. Since Heechul is the one paying, Hyukjae can’t say no to the proposal.
“Ne.. You remember your promise to me? About you’re going to do anything for me. Anything at all?” Hyukjae feel a little bit uneasy but he nod anyway.
“Don’t you think it’s time for you to see him again?” Heechul ask which make Hyukjae play with his food.
“Are you a kid? Never play with your food. Not a good manner. And we’re in a restaurant for God sake.” Heechul smack his hand. Hyukjae pout at that.
“I can be a little bit forceful sometimes. I’m just doing what I think is right. You don’t want him to be with someone else, right? I bet you’re sooooooo going to regret when he’s finally moving on with someone else.”
“But…”
“What is it this time?” Heechul ask and glare at Hyukjae.
“When I left him, I was hoping he’s going to find someone else and be happy. Have a big family in the future. With a lot of kids.”
Heechul sigh. “Okay. You already did your part running away. For two years. TWO YEARS. As far as I know, he’s still single and miserable.”
“How did you know??” Hyukjae tilted his head.
“Duh.. my boyfriend which is your bestfriend works here. Of course I know. Our town is not that big. I’m giving you your own time. But if I thought it’s too long, I’m going to interfere. And that’s final. Now eat. All of your food.”
Hyukjae continue to eat in silent. He’s not actually eating. He was actually forcing the food down his throat. He want to meet Donghae again, but he is too scared of what Donghae will do and say.

First day at work. He don’t really have much to do. He just study about the café a little bit more. How much their earn for the past years. The employees sometime tease him about his title now. He insist them to still call him Hyukjae. Just like old time. It was awkward at first since a lot of the employees are older than him.
As the time goes by, he manage to adapt himself again with the café surrounding. He used to be the waiter but now he’s the important man behind the desk; checking if the orders are right, is the café clean enough, is the atmosphere is the café friendly and warm enough, is there any complain about the services. He’s glad everything is going great.
The café receive so much love than before. Hyukjae didn’t just work from behind the desk. He freely walking around and help the employees, talk to the customers and sometimes he would deliver the orders.
His friendly gesture was one of the reasons why the customers love him. Siwon’s uncle keeps an eye on him for the first month. Since he satisfied with his work, he trust Hyukjae with his café and take a long vacation with his wife.
So now Hyukjae’s responsibilities are big. He do his best so Siwon’s uncle won’t be disappointed with him. Apart from doing his job very well, he receives tons of love from the ladies. He find it’s hard since they are his customers. Loyal customers. But at the end he politely rejects their offer of having dates. He knows there’s no way he can say yes. Since his heart is already occupied by a person named Donghae.
Almost 6 month since his return, he already has his own place to stay. The apartment is not big. Enough only for him to stay. He’s satisfied though. Heechul and Siwon sometimes come by to his little home. That bring back memories of course. Sungmin was the one who always come by visiting him when he was with Donghae.
He has their phone number. Stiffly glued at his ref. he always stares at the numbers everytime he was in the kitchen. But something was holding him back from pressing the number on his phone. Maybe he’s not ready yet.
Everything is going fine for Hyukjae. He’s living peacefully. But he can never run and hides forever, right? He was strolling alone at the park one day. The familiar park where he and Donghae used to hang out. He follow where his leg is taking him; eyeing his surrounding carefully and sometime his lips forming a smile as if he was reminded by a very pleased memory.
He let his legs takes him around the park when suddenly he freezes at the sight in front of him. A familiar figure; only skinnier sitting and playing with a kid on the ground. His mind freezes; all he do was standing there watching the man. His breath caught up in his throat.
Hyukjae feels like the world just stop moving for him. Only then the kid raises his head up and their eyes met for a few second. Hyukjae can’t really recall where he saw the kid before. Then again, he feels a tug in his heart. Maybe his decision to leave Donghae is right.
“Oh!!!” The kid say when he saw Hyukjae. He point his small cute finger to where Hyukjae is. Hyukjae was shock at his place. He didn’t know what to do. All he prays in his heart is for Donghae to not look back.
“What is it, Henry? You have to concentrate so we can make this robot together.” Donghae said when he realizes Henry is not helping him anymore.
“Ahjushi.. That ahjushi…” He said cutely with his finger still pointing at Hyukjae.
“Who is it?” Donghae turn his head to look at the direction of Henry finger. When his eyes land on someone he miss the most, Donghae too feel like his world start to stop moving. He stands up abrubtly almost knocking Henry off to ground. Thanks to his fast reflection, he manage to catch the little boy before he fall. “Hyukkie…” He looks up again after checking Henry is okay but he can’t see Hyukjae anywhere.
Was he having a delusion now? But Henry saw him too. “Henry, did you see Hyukjae earlier?” He ask nervously; just to comfirm what he saw. Henry eagerly nod. “That ahjushi was right there. He was looking here. I saw him. Your ahjushi.”
“Henry-ah. Let’s find your mother. Ajushi have to find him so I can’t play with you today.” He quickly find Henry mom which is not hard since the kid’s mom is on the nearest bench. Then he dash to where he saw Hyukjae earlier. He run like crazy to find Hyukjae but he can’t find him anywhere.
Just when he was about to give up, he remember Siwon. The talk he had with Kyuhyun rings into his mind again. Again, without paying attention to people around him, he dash to Siwon’s café, open the door not too gently causing the customers in there to look at him.
Knowing he’s attitude could cause trouble, he bow down and apologize before heading to the counter and request for Siwon.
The worker hesitantly calls out for Siwon since he saw Donghae punch him on the face once. “I just want to talk to him. That’s all. This is really important.” Donghae plead as if he can read what on the worker’s mind. The said man nod before disappearing to the back door and return with Siwon.
Siwon haven’t seen Donghae face to face since the day Hyukjae’s gone. He is quite nervous when Donghae want to see him today.
“Hyung… H-how can I help…”
“He’s here, right?Hyukkie is here..Tell me..”

Hyukjae run, as fast as he can out of the park. Then he hides in between building. He himself didn’t really know why he’s running away. He try to catch his breath as he sits down at the alley.
“Oh my God. He was just right there.” Hyukjae thought. He bring his knees up and hugs them only to hides his tears from everyone else to see. After a long time, he cried again. His heart is aching. He misses Donghae but he’s afraid of him. Afraid of what will happen.
After a few hours sitting alone and done with his cries, he stood up again and wipe his tears from his face. He walks slowly to his small apartment with his head hang low.
When he arrive at his place, it’s already dark and cold. He sighs heavily but his steps were stopped by a pair of leg at his apartment stairs. He almost tripped but luckily, the person catch him and pull him in one tight hug.
“It’s really you. You’re back.” The person said over and over again. Hyukjae freezes again. He know this man really well. The smell, the built of his body. He’s sure the person who is hugging him now is Donghae.
Tears start to form in his eyes again and his body starts to shake. Donghae tighten his hold when he feel Hyukjae trembling in his hold.
“I miss you so bad that I thought I’m going to die.” He buried his face on Hyukjae’s neck; inhaling the scent that always drives him crazy. As if it’s a cue, the rain start to pure down from the sky; not wanting them to be apart for at least that day.
