Summary: Hyukjae was saved when his father was murdered. That is when he come across with Donghae and Kyuhyun. Up to that moment his life starts to change
Chapter 19
“Man, you look awful.” Kyuhyun examine Donghae’s face closely. “You don’t sleep anymore? Those eyes. Scary.” Donghae groan and push Kyuhyun’s face away. “I’m not in the mood for jokes right now, Kyu.”
“When do you ever have the mood? You’re no fun.” Kyuhyun smirk and proceed to do his job. Donghae keep sighing all day. He can’t even focus on his job. “Donghae, let’s go somewhere after work. We need to talk.” Kyuhyun said suddenly.
“Kyu, I can’t. I don’t…”
“You don’t have any choice. You have to come with me. Don’t let me force you. Because you know I will.”
“Fine.” Donghae give up. There’s no way he’s winning against Kyuhyun.
*After work*
“Where are you taking me?” Donghae look out the window. “Somewhere we can talk with no interruptions at all.” Kyuhyun said back.
When they arrive at nowhere, Kyuhyun stop the car. They stay silent for a while.
“You didn’t really talk to me anymore, Hae. I wanna know what’s going on.”
“Nothing. Nothing’s going on since he left.” This time Kyuhyun’s time to sigh. “You heard the old man said. Hyukjae will definitely comeback. He’s going to work for him here. Please do yourself a favor. Take a good care of yourself.”
“I am.”
“Yeah, right. You lost weight. You don’t look clean with all those facial hair. Your eyes look tired. I don’t see Donghae anymore in there. You have to be strong, Hae. I know you’re devastated with him gone, I am too. Sungmin too. Share your pain with us.”
Donghae turn his gaze away. He is not the only one who’s suffering.
“He’s not happy too, you know. But he is doing his best over there. He’ll be back soon. Sooner than you expected.”
“How.. How did you know?”
“I talk to people. Siwon, His friend you remember him?”
“You know where he is?” Donghae look at Kyuhyun hopefully.
“I.. I do. But…”
“And you didn’t tell me?”
“What can you do if I told you? Force him back here? What good will it do to both of you? I don’t want both of you to be in more pain. So I decided to wait for him to make his choice. It’s his decision to leave on the first place.” Kyuhyun turn his gaze to the front. “To be honest I’m mad at him. I don’t know what I might do when he’s coming back. You’re like this because of him. But then again what else I can do. I can never hurt him. I love him too, you know. Not like you do. But he’s a brother to me.”
“You’re not going to punch him in the face, right?” Donghae finally look at Kyuhyun again. “I’m going too if you still behave like this.” Donghae eyes open wide. But then he sighs again.
“How soon is he going to be back?”
“Very soon.”
They went silent once again.
“You remember Yoona?” Donghae ask after a while and Kyuhyun hum as an answer.
“I met her few months ago. We keep meeting up after that. And she..we.. almost make out last night.”
“You did what?!”
“She kiss me first. I’m under the influence. You know, alcohol.”
Kyuhyun snort. “That is one lame excuse.”
“I know. But we didn’t do anything. I push her away. And she look so sad and hurt.”
“You don’t really mean what I think you mean right?”
“No. Kyu. She’s a lovely young lady. I’ve done damage in her. She still in love with me. She’s…”
“Do you feel bad for her?”
“I do. But there’s nothing else I can do. I love Hyukkie. I’m being punished right now, right? For what I had done to her..”
“Hae, there’s no way I know about that. Give yourself sometime too. Don’t think too much. You can’t have them both. Do you think she’s one of the reasons why Hyuk’s want to disappear from you?”
“Huh? She…I.. I don’t know.” Donghae cover his face with his palms. “I don’t know.” Kyuhyun pats his back. “Why don’t you just have a day off?” Kyuhyun said.
“I can’t. I’ll be more miserable.” For Donghae work is one of his best distractions.
“Stay with us for tonight. You really need to rest. And Sungmin know what to do with you.” Donghae have no other choice but to agree with Kyuhyun. He’s really tired.

*Skip another year*
Ring ring
“Hello.”
“Hyukjae. I have a report about you here with me. It was faxed to me a while ago.”
“Ajushi? Is that you?”
“Heheh. Sorry. I’m too excited. The report about you is impressive. You learn a lot and fast in your young age.”
“Thank you, sir.” Hyukjae answer proudly.
“So, pack up your things. You’re heading back home. I’ll be waiting.”
“Eh? Really?” His heart starts to beats faster. I’m going back. I’m not ready yet.
“I’m gonna rely my business on you now, young man.”
“But, sir..”
“Say no more. I see you soon. I’m gonna email your ticket later.”
Click. The phone call ended but Hyukjae still shock. Heechul come to him and wave her hand in front of his face.
“Hello.. Earth calling to Hyukjae..” One blink. Two blink. When there’s still no response from Hyukjae, Heechul shake his shoulder.
“Hyuk, wake up.”
“Noona.”
“What’s wrong with you? You look like you just saw a ghost.”
“He said… Ajushi said…. we’re going home..”
“Really???? Oh…Thank God!!” Heechul hugs the still frozen Hyukjae tight. “That is a very good news. Let’s pack up our things. I’m going to help you pack your things as well.”
“How am I going to face him again? What do I do?” Hyukjae was left alone in the living room; debating with his thoughts.

*Couple of months past*
“Hyuk, we’re home.” Heechul chipped happily when they land. “Noona, you’re too loud.” Hyukjae notice few people are looking at their sits right now. He bow lightly.
“Of course I am. We’re home. And you should be happy too. You’re too quiet since you know this day will come.” Hyukjae sigh. He’s afraid of this day.
“Come on. I bet Siwon is waiting for us.” Hyukjae follow her close from behind. She’s right. Siwon welcome them with his happy handsome face. Heechul run toward his boyfriend and hug him so tight for a long time. Hyukjae left fidgeting alone.
“Okay, can we go now?” He finally said. “Why? Are you afraid of seeing familiar faces?” Siwon help them with their bags. “Siwon, he’s going to stay with us. He can use the empty room in the first floor. You’re not going to stay with us forever, right? Just for the time being, right?”
“Yes. And I assure you you’ll never notice me there. I’m out when I find my place to stay.” Hyukjae said with a nod.
“Don’t be a stranger. Don’t you miss me?” Hyukjae smirk which he learn from Heechul of course. “Noona probably will eat me alive if I hug you.” He said. Heechul quickly smack his head.
“See. She always do that out of nowhere.” Siwon just laugh at their antics. “Let’s get out of here.”
*Siwon’s place*
Hyukjae get two days off before he starts to report to work. He sat alone at the balcony inhaling the air with his eyes close. Hae, I’m home. I’m not sure if I can see you again. I’m afraid you might hate me.
“Can I join you here?” Hyukjae jump slightly and put his hand on his chest. “Siwon, you scare me.”
“Sorry. So how have you been? Okay?” Siwon take a sit next to him.
“I’m not sure.” He said while playing with his fingers.
“You.. think about him a lot?” Siwon ask again.
“Yeah. I don’t know how to face him again. Kyuhyun hyung and Sungmin hyung.” Hyukjae lowered his face.
“They miss you. Kyuhyun hyung always come to the café to talk. Sungmin hyung didn’t come that much anymore. And Donghae hyung…” Siwom purposely delay his speech. He wants to know Hyukjae’s reaction. He sees Hyukjae continue to play with his fingers and constantly rubbing his nose. Siwon smile at that.
“I’m glad you didn’t change, Hyuk.” Siwon said patting Hyukjae’s back. “Huh?”
“You really want to know about Donghae hyung so much, eh?” he teases him. Hyukjae can’t help but to blush at Siwon’s words.
“He’s…. different. The only thing I know he’s still waiting for you. It’s more than two years but he’s still waiting for you. I know some people would say two years is not much, but I truly believe he’s living hell without you. I know deep down inside there, two years is too much for you, too.”
Hyukjae turn his head to Siwon. He’s about to cry but he’s fighting hard not to let his tears rolling down his face.
“I don’t know what you want to do after this. All I wish for you is happiness. And him as well. It’s getting late. You should rest now. Heechul told me you guys need to do some shopping tomorrow.”
Hyukjae hugs Siwon before disappearing in his room. “Thank you, Siwon. For everything.” Hyukjae said.
“I don’t like it when you say that sentence. The last time you said it, you were flying to China the next day.” Siwon playfully hit his arm. “Go rest. Going put with Heechul means you need all your energy with you.”
