Space, time, and money

We have two large storage units. They're getting expensive. I'd like to eliminate one of them from the budget as soon as possible.
The second one was rented with the intention of triangulating our move. That move was over 2 years ago.
Unit 1 is pretty full. Unit 2 has most of our book collection, some of my fabric collection, some of my toy collection and some decorations, in addition to some smaller shelving units. I recently managed to get my quilting machine and it's giant frame pieces out of Unit 2. It's currently being hosted in the basement of a friend's house.
This past weekend, my Infamous friend and I went down there and put in a few hours of hard work. He worked on solving the book problem; the lions share of our book collection was packed in the biggest possible boxes. I brought many smaller boxes and he repackaged about half of the books.
Meanwhile I was rearranging furniture and stacks of boxes. Unit 1 had a space hog in it: no, not Pigs In Space, but a huge steamer trunk taking up a lot of cubic feet, and totally empty. I figured I could rather load it up with stuff, or haul it home and make it work for me here. I also removed the last of my camping equipment (I think) and brought that home. I cleared a TON of space, so now I can rearrange some of the distribution of the large pile of stuff.
So the next step is moving as much of the pile in Unit 2 to Unit 1. I also need to bring a broom because I broke a lamp in Unit 1 during the shuffle. I want to put the toys in Unit 1, bring the decorations home, and divvy up the fabric according to what fits where.
If I'm successful, there will be nothing left in Unit 1 but the books.
I've been managing all the stuff myself. I haul it, I organize it, I maintain it, for a while I was paying for all of it on my own. So my person opinion is that my S.O. is in charge of moving the books. If you would like to help him, let him know. By downsizing the boxes, it should be a snap. If you would be interested in helping us shelve the books, let us know.
