The footsteps of doom

... come nowadays in the form of a bleached blond babe who is supposed to oversee the merger of the libraries.
She is someone I know from my days in the TV station job. As far as I am aware, she has no degree in the library sciences like me but she is younger and probably more spunky but damn does it irk me that when she counted the shelves and so on, she seemed less knowledgable than I was, when I came to fill the spot basically from the street. And she has worked on her job at least for 2 years. *headdesking*
As it was to be suspected, our library (stream-lined for the needs of the departments) is going to be dispersed and included to the main hoard by themes and topics. Someone, a female someone is supposed to come here in July and re-process the books. Errmmm... over 8.000 books in 2 months? While either my Bossette or I are in our annual leave (which we will have, as the plan seems to be)? Really? I am getting bad karma for this, but damn, they are going to be so screwed with time.
Of course, there was this audacious question if we would like to help the processing. What about no? You are taking our jobs, damn you, and you want us to help you? If there is an order, yes, we will, but... *more headdesking*
And no guidelines about loans and returns either - because simple logic says that the more books there are in, the less is there to process later, when the books trickle back one by one for years... These are things one should know about library work but although she had a list of things she had prepared, she was not very sure at all about all of this. Dog, this is going to be a mess...
