THE SHOW IS OVER!

Well, first off The Ginger Show's Halloween party was a huge success. It was the most fun I've had in awhile. so let me fill you in for all of those that didn't come ::that special squinty eye look:: Tuesday started off like any other day, Jesse and I had set up all the decorations on Monday night so we didn't have to worry about any of that the day of the show. I was up around 9am ( no I didn't go to work that day) I still had to finish sowing my dress, pick up my wig from a friend that was doing it all up for me, and buy my bra, stockings and ace bandages. I had got my stockings and such and started finishing up my dress, then Johnny called ( my hair guy) and said he had a sudden 4:30 appointment with a client and couldn’t bring the wig to me and that I should come pick it up at the theater where he works in the hair dpt. So I had to hall my ass up to Hair Spray the musical to pick up my wig. I got to walk across the stage! I know it's not anything that amazing but as I was walking across the empty stage in front of an empty house I was like " wow, I'm walking across the stage for Hair Spray, The Broadway musical….in NYC….on Broadway….wow". So I got my wig, Johnny had done an amazing job with it and booked my ass back home because I still had to finish sowing and get my bra. Got the bra at Conway on 34th, that was fun, and went to met up with Jesse to start getting ready. it was 5:30 when we met up and went over to Bills place ( Bill is Ginger's hair guy) so at 6:00 Jesse starts painting the both of us, he really did an amazing job….I looked Fierce. It was really cool seeing how it was all done, the transformation from one " personality" to another. so at 10:00 we were done, Ginger and Jocelyn were ready and the boys were waiting. so we jumped in a cab to go a big two blocks to the bar and made our entrance. now not everyone knew I was going to be in drag, and those that did didn't even recognize me, I was able to treat Jocelyn like her own entity, it's kind of hard to explain…but because I looked nothing like myself, and not even my friends knew who I was at first glance or even talking to me, I was able to construct new relationships with current relationships just under a different name. I guess you could say it's like having multiple screen names and just because you have this screen name on your friends list under this handle, it's not on the friends list of the other handle that you have. But I digress…that night was so much fun, Cashetta was the special guest for the show ( for those of you that don't now, Cashetta is a Drag Magician, www.cashetta.com) she did some amazing tricks and she sings her own songs, she doesn’t lip sink like most queens. But there was another special guest that made her debut performance, Me. That's right bitches you missed it, it was so hot. Only Ginger and I knew that I was going to be doing a number, She started my track and said " now I don't know the queen doing this number is here yet, but we'll start her number in hopes she makes it here in time". so the number started with it's longish intro and I was just hanging out with the people, talking, mingling, drinking, and then when the main groove feel in I hit the runway to the stage and everyone started going wild, ::laughs:: I did the song Good Thing from the Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity show. During the number people kept coming up and giving my bills and I had no idea where to put them all so I just started shoving them down into my bra. ( an action i knew about but had never done, due to the fact that I've never had breast like the ones I had on Tuesday night) So the Show was an event to remember. I'm kind of sad now that it's all over…seeing this from beginning to end has been a really great opportunity and process. it's been a whirlwind from the first day I sat down and started working out themes to the final credits of the show were Ginger and I shared a quality moment, a tear, a laugh, and a hug on stage for all to see. I've meet a lot of new contacts and a lot of great people. I've already, only two days after the show, gotten 2 offers to work on other projects ( as a producer not a queen), I'm very excited. this really has been an amazing experience and I'm very happy and blessed to be doing something I really love. Wish you were there.

Pictures to come!!!!

P.S. I met a really cool guy last night and he hugs like I've never been huged before :)
