baby's firsts aren't always fun

Raine puked for the first time yesterday. She spit up as a baby of course, but this is so different and upsetting for all of us. She was still puking this morning, and had dry heaves last night, so we're all a little worn out. She's been nursing like crazy, mostly because breast milk seems to stay down a little better than other food, and is at least less gross when it comes back up. Puking is just the pits.

January has in general been an awful month. My grandmother died two weeks ago. She was the last of my grandparents, so I've been feeling a bit at sea with her loss. It was fairly sudden too (as sudden as it can be for someone who's hit ninety) so I still feel a little in shock.

On top of that we already had travel plans for last weekend so we've spent three of the last four weekends traveling. It is fun to see people but that much time away from home is really rough. We have no travel plans for all of February and we plan to keep it that way.

It's been ages since I posted, and I hate to be so negative, but really, I'm just hoping that February goes a little better.
