Lazy, hot and slow days here in gorgeous Provence. Yuri left today, and I sense a bit of relief. He's a nice guy, but he won't be under the same roof with us in Holland. Spending a month together has been a great way to see how close all of us want to be to each other in our next abode in Holland. Yuri doesn't fit inside the house. Barry will be very close and have complete access, but needs his own space, such as his own floor or an adjacent house or one that's down the block - close enough to spend tons of time with Maya but far enough that he can still enjoy his solitary and bachelor life without us all over him. I too will need some space of my own, and each of us having our own bedrooms will help with that. However if I can have more space and/or distance I think it would be good. Although Roland and I have periods where we work and play perfectly together, I think some of our problems stem from when we're together too much of the time.
We'll also need some studio space for our various creative pursuits. How, oh how, will I get back into music again without disturbing anyone? Not sure how that will play out. Maybe there's studio space somewhere in Utrecht for that sort of thing - something like Metatrack. If there is, I'll find it.
Some people are saying, "No way, there's nothing like what you are looking for in Holland; it's too crowded, too expensive, too little availability, etc etc. But hey, there was a list a mile long of how our family couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't work like it is working, either. We will simply have to be creative and patient, and accept that our first attempt to create our "perfect home" for everyone will likely not be our last.
