Bats in the Belfry

Class starts tomorrow. I have mixed feelings about it. I've been bored to tears most of the summer. I also like to sleep in (quite an understatement). I also am not overly excited by most of my classes. I'm taking two audiology (had to add to Word) classes. After last semester's hearing class, I'm not overly excited. However, one of the classes uses the same book than I did in the spring. Perhaps I'll even read it this time around.

After the last 2 nights, I'm nervous about getting a good night's sleep. Moreover, being nervous about getting enough sleep is never a good way to start off. Sunday night was pretty bad. I had spent the evening cleaning my room. I did a nice job too, got all my books organized on shelves. I was up 'til 7 am or so. I was just wide-awake. At around 6 am I decided to organize my DVDs (Word doesn't know what a DVD is either). I think I fell asleep some time between 7 and 8. Then my alarm went off at nine, and I was up for another hour and a half. Then round 10:30, I feel asleep and slept 'til 4:30.

Last night was better and worse. I fell asleep before 1:30, but then was woken up at 5:30. Before I tell you why I was woken up, let me say that I had taken Tylenol PM, and that Tylenol PM and I have occasional issues. I heard a noise and woke up. I thought I saw something moving around towards me ceiling, so I flicked the light on. There appeared to be a bat. So, I flicked on my ceiling light, which made it unhappy. I decided I needed to leave my room. Then I grabbed my phone and my glasses and slammed the door. After waiting a bit, I decided to check my room, nothing in there. Then I checked again later. Still nothing. At 6:15 or so, I decided to go back to my room and look around. I didn't see anything. After sitting in my room for nearly half an hour I surmised that the bat was a figment of my imagination. With my door closed, there is no way for one to get into the room, much less out. I have no idea. I must have been asleep when I thought I saw that. At 7:30, I was almost asleep again when my kamikaze desk fan jumped off my dresser. So sometime between 7:30 and 8 I fell back asleep, to get up at 10:30. Ugh. I am so ready for bed.
