I watched The Last Samurai. It is my uncle's favourite Tom Cruise movie (the only other one he likes is Minority Report). I tried watching it when it first came out on DVD, but I fell asleep. The only part I remembered was Tom Cruise yelling for Japanese alcohol.
It was an OK film. The battle scenes were all very exciting. The props and costumes and sets were cool. There were many things I did not like about it. I thought it was cheesy at many points. Most cheesy parts involved Tom Cruise. His character, and the way the story was set up around him, were my least favourite parts of the film. I am happy it was not as boring as I expected it to be, but I don't know if I will watch the movie again.
I got two more Tom Cruise movies for Christmas. I am looking forward to watching them.
