Trial Lesson
Had my trial violin lesson today and it was quite fun. Learnt to hold the violin and bow, the fingerings and played 3 songs! Also watched Amadeus on DVD for 20mins XD
2 little girls were having their lessons when I arrived, so had to wait until they were done before I started mine. When their parents came to fetch them, their mum was looking at both my textbook and me with an amused smile on her face. I was on the piece "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", so maybe it was amusing to her that this grown girl is playing TTLS (while her little girls are on some harder pieces)... it would probably amuse her more if she knew I was 27... lao char bo learning the violin ^_^UU
Was told that I was a natural with the instrument!! (maybe he said that to make me more enthu abt taking lessons) but I shall pretend that he really meant it and yeah, am having my official first lesson tmr! Am now cramming on my reading (seriously forgot every single thing since my sch band days, other than the Every Good Boy Does Fine and FACE which kinda saved me coz my teacher jumped directly into sight reading). Other than TTLS, the other songs were more like individual sounds to me since I took quite a while to identify each note and totally ignored the time signature stuff.
Am going to be a prepared student tmr!! and hopefully, my violin arrives tmr as well, so I can start practicing on my bow hold. My mum says I will last only 3 months... I do hope I get to take my grade 3 exams next yr... and last all the way until grade 8... really do hope so, I did wait 20 years for this dream to come true, so I MUST go alllll the way!
