In my last post I wrote that "like who cares if I get sick". OMG, I so do care now. I have given up most of my weekend to sickness. Silver Fox was a sweetie and come over yesterday so we could go shopping together.. we'll actually more like me shopping and him providing great company. I ended up buying a new pair of running shoes.
Well combining the running shoes with my new laptop I got on Friday (thanks
justdigi) I really am being a bit spendy. It is of course, all part of my master plan. I also plan to buy a cheap digital video camera and an amplifier for my electric violin. Then when all my crazy spending is over, I shall start my attempt at living more frugally. My themes will be decentralisation, reduced packaging, organic and healthy. It should be quite interesting.
Anyway, I don't know why I'm in such a positive mood. I feel quite awful. I now understand what
alexxxia was talking about (I think I may have actually caught what my neice had by the similar way my mouth was hanging slack jawed throughout the night). There was much sore throat, much coughing, cold chills then uncontrolable hot sweats and a killer headache underlying it all. My favourite one was the cold chills over most of my body, with the hot forehead. I had to combine ice packs with 4 blankets to manage that one.
Being sick is in some ways exciting. Especially when you've got that muddled head and poor balance thing going. It's all a problem solving game of how you're going to manage all the symptoms, aim towards recovery and do it all with reduced capacity. The things I've been using for this bout include;
Water... heaps and heaps and heaps of it
Ice packs
Hot showers
Blankets
Pillows (under legs to ease muscular pain)
Multivitamin
Olive leaf extract
Garlic and horseradish tablets
Fruit (Nudies and kiwi fruits)
Chocolate (this one is just to make me feel a bit better)
Salad
Sunlight
Sleep
Paracetomol (2 tabs)
Anyone got anything else I can add?
