Painful.
I saw There Will Be Blood tonight, and if I had to sum it up in one word, that would be it. Not BAD, necessarily, just a real struggle to get through. Slow and painful. Also the soundtrack was the worst thing ever. It's either silent or constant, tense, "omg, something terrible is going to happen ANY SECOND" music, even though pretty much nothing ever happens. It just grates on your nerves. And the movie's way too long. But I think Daniel Day-Lewis is a lock for Best Actor. I'm also surprised Paul Dano didn't score a Best Supporting nod. The Academy seems to like weird, disheartening movies that don't really make any sense. BLACH. I need to go wash my soul.
