I haven't updated in a while because I wanted to spare you guys the up and down of my job search. I had 3 interviews this summer, so far. I think I mentioned two of them. Obviously I didn't get the job at my old high school that I was sooooo excited about. I think I mentioned that one before. Well, then I had an interview at another high school, which I thought had gone well, until the assistant principal took me to his office (he sat in on the interview) and told me everything I did wrong, and what I should do for my NEXT interview. I could have waited to hear that info after I knew I didn't have the job for sure. Of course, there were 11 people going for it, so I was just fooling myself.
Which brings me to this week. Saturday I am taking the Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum test. I only wish I had taken it sooner. I've done the practice test and I got 66 out of 100 right, so if 50% is passing I'm good, but I have no idea, so gotta study. What subject did I bomb on the practice test, well science of course, since I now have 3 schools kind of waiting to see if I pass because they have science openings. One school has been interviewing for the job for the past two weeks, so it will probably get filled. The principal for the second school called me back today and he wants to interview me tomorrow for another science job. Then the third school called me today (totally on their own, b/c they had my resume) and told me they have both a science position and a social studies position open, and I'm interviewing Thursday. I know both of the last 2 principals because I've interviewed with them before, and they both sound really interested. We'll see how it goes. Gotta go study up on some cell structure and stuff like that.
Did I mention school starts August 3rd, and teachers start July 26? That would let me give my boss like 2 days notice before quitting, which I feel awful about. I would also feel awful about having a week to start planning.
