Well, damn, we were only without power for like 6 or 7 hours. Thank you Gulf Power! It's hard to believe that this morning I was checking out the weather channel only to find out that Dennis was heading closer to us than we had thought, and now it's been over for a while...it hit Gulf Breeze, I think, which is a little to the east of P'cola which ( Read more... )

Glad to hear that you're okay. Even over here on the Treasure Coast, we got hit with tons of rain...and we're soaked as it is. I'm almost to the point where I'm parking on the road b/c our lawn is starting to be so wet and soggy that I have to use 4 wheel drive to get out of it.

But glad to hear you're okay.

Yeah, we had a surprisingly dry storm...mostly wind. We get more rain from a regular thunderstorm. It's like the bands of rain just went around us...it's weird.

Hey, Kim glad to see you are ok and that your house faired well through the storm. But can I just say that you were among the lucky ones to only have 6 to 7 hours without. We lost power here Sunday at 11 AM and then didn't get it back until Monday at 8:30 PM. That's almost 36 hours!!!! Anyway, at least it was better than last year with Ivan (literally 6-7 DAYS without power!). Everything is fine over here at my house. And now I'm just waiting to be able to get to the beach to catch some rays-- haha fat chance of that happening anytime soon-- especially with Emily coming. Well, now that I could have written this in my own journal, I'll catch ya later.
