(no subject)
Well, damn, we were only without power for like 6 or 7 hours. Thank you Gulf Power! It's hard to believe that this morning I was checking out the weather channel only to find out that Dennis was heading closer to us than we had thought, and now it's been over for a while...it hit Gulf Breeze, I think, which is a little to the east of P'cola which means Dennis hit closer to us than Ivan did...but we got so much less damage than with Ivan, although I got a big scare when I was laying down trying to sleep until it made landfall and I woke up to the sound of a thud over my head...a giant branch from the magnolia tree hit the roof right over my room, but doesn't look like it caused any damage. We didn't get much rain, and thanks to the hurricane force winds not going out that far, we didn't get the really strong wind, although it sounded scary as hell. Around here it's mostly lots of branches down. "We missed a bullet" as the radio people are saying. I think Pensacola got it worse than us, and they were on the western side, which is really odd. We really should have gotten pounded, but we didn't. I am so thankful. Let's hope that the 3 brewing right now stay away from here, b/c the build up just kills me.
