I leave Gunnison in the late afternoon after having lunch with Annie, Bryant, Jennie, and Anthony.  We had a huge breakfast at The Quarter Circle.  It was a nice day as I was leaving Gunnison.  I drove thru Montrose, Delta, Grand Junction and arrived in Palisades.  My friend Aaron wanted to meet me and hang out.  This little town of Palisades is smaller than Gunnison and is pretty redneckish.  So me and Aaron hung out at his place and fooled around.  Then he took me out to eat at Starvin' Marvin's.  Never heard of the place, but it was a really good greasy spoon.  I had the chicken fried chicken... DAMN that was good.  So after dinner I said my bye to Aaron and proceeded on my way to Aspen.

I drove on I-70 and was getting a bit car sickness because of all the curves of the canyon following the Colorado River.  But I finally got to Glenwood Springs.  It was a decent town and was pretty hopping for a Friday night.  There were cars and people all around the downtown area.  After going thru Glenwood, Carbondale, El Jabel, Snowmass and finally arriving in Aspen around 8ish.

I arrived at my friend Adam's hotel at the Aspen Mountain Lodge.  I thought I would get lost in Aspen looking for his hotel, but it was an easy find.  I got out and meet Adam in his room.  His friend Zenith from Rifle was also visiting.  Later I found out that Adam and Zenith were kinda seeing each other.  But Adam has a thing for Asians and Zenith is Asian-American.

After hanging out with them for a hour, I decided I would go out and see what was happening in Aspen on a Friday night.  Antonio Banderas was firing off Fireworks from the Gondola.  There was tonz of people there. I had walked around up and down streets going in each direction.  Slowly I figured out all the streets around Aspen, while talking my cell to Annie, Jennie, Joy and Rob.  Annie had suggested that I go into a bar called 'Little Annie's'.  I found the bar, but it was crowded and there was no place to sit at the bar.  So I kept on walking around until I found a nice bar/restaurtant called 'The Ute Bar and Grill'.  It was pretty nice and the bartenders were cute.  So I had myself a cocktail and beer and found out that Aspen is expensive!

After hanging out at the Ute, I left and started walking back to the hotel.  Suddenly on Hyman Avenue I heard music and it was pretty good.  I had found a club in a basement of a hotel.  It was called Club Chelsea!  I was in heaven and found myself surrounded by many people I didn't know.  I went to the bar and had myself a drink and then looked around.  There were alot of attractive people and people my age.  I was in heaven, but tired from my trip.  So I left back to the hotel and went to sleep.

Sunday, January 16

I had woken up to finding myself with a huge hunger.  It was 930am and the contiental breakfast was over.  I got up took a shower and headed to Mickey D's.  Dood that was really good for some strange reason.  I got back to the hotel only to find out that I left my key in the hotel room.  Zenith was still sleeping and couldn't hear my knocking.  So I got into my truck and started driving around to see what the town looked like during the day.  Somehow I ended up in El Jabel and got gas.  Luckily I got gas there, because in Aspen it was hella expensive.

I got back to the hotel around noonish and Zenith was packing his car.  He said he was going back to Rifle to pay bills and etc.  Zenith then decided to take me out to eat Chinese food at Little Ollie's.  That was excellent and a good price for lunch specials.  Zenith then took me to the community center to see if there was any volunteer positions available for Gay Ski Week, but nobody was there.  So we went to The Sky Hotel where they had setup the tables for the event.  Found out there were tons of positions available and I signed up for a few of them.  The room was filled with lots of gay stuff from magazines, pins, lube, condoms, coffee, pasteries, flyers, silent auctions, VW and much more.

I had left my key in the room and Adam was going to be home from work at 2pm.  So me and Zenith surfed the net on his laptop in the lobby for an hour until Adam got home.  Zenith then left back to Rifle.  Adam and I took off to The Sky Hotel for the Apres ski.  Apres ski is just a fancy name for their happy hour and everywhere you go in Aspen has somesort of original Apres ski from cocktails, soup, cheeses to wine.  Well the Apres Ski at The Sky was filled with guys and obviously gay.  Adam had signed up to do volunteering there.  I went up to the bar and had myself 2 cocktails at 9 dollars each.  OUCH!  After sitting around and crowd watching.  I found myself to be the youngest one there and I decided to leave for the Apres Ski at our hotel.

Adam came home and I had got some cheeses and soup for him for dinner.  Somehow me and Adam ended up on gay.com and found a guy in Aspen.  His name is Tom and was from El Jabel.  He wanted to meet me, but had already 'met' Adam already.  So he came over and hung out.  Later that evening I had volunteered to help at the Hotel Jerome.  Me and Tom got there at 7pm and gave people wristbands to enter.  The patrons that entered payed $15 to get in.  I met the other volunteers there at the door.  I met a really cool guy named Jason that was from Snowmass.  Funny thing is that we met online at gay.com and he bought me a few drinks.  Then I met this other guy and I totally blanked his name, but he bought me a few drinks.  The event ended at 11 and there was tonz of really good appertizers that were free.

So Jason and everyone else invited me to go to Club Chelsea for the opening party for Gay Ski Week.  I got there and there wasn't alot of people there.  Well when I was deciding to leave the guy I forgot at the Hotel Jerome was there with his straight brother.  Somehow me and his straight brother ended up dancing for a long time.  He was a good dancer and we were dancing close.  Tom ended up buying me a few drinks at the club.

Tom was tore up!  So we left the club around 1am.  He was hungry and he knew of a pizza place called 'New York Pizza'.  DAMN BEST PIZZA for cheap.  The only thing is that they don't take credit cards.  Luckily Tom paid for it.

I held up Tom all the way to the hotel.  So me and Tom went to sleep in the 'same' bed.
