An afternoon in Genoa

Happy Wednesday!

We were able to leave the office at a reasonable time and go walk around in Genoa for a while before the dinner. We found out the luggage arrived (oh bliss and joy!) which immediately had me in a good mood.

I was able to do a little tourism . . . not much sadly, most of what I see is ---

I think I need to review my work. One that gives me time to wander around such places might have a certain appeal just now.

I am so lucky that I can leave work at 18:00 and that it stays light so late.

That day we actually had a meeting at the Festival/Congress Center, which is right on the waterfront.

I am glad to see something of the city!

Thank you! You are taking us around the world with you.

These are so warm. I like the colors of the buildings.

All those scooters! Fun.

Thank you for your nice comment!

The colors there are very warm, but then I take these pictures late in the afternooon, which provides a much warmer light.

The scooters rock.

. . . . I want a Vespa now . . . .

Bologna is a gorgeous city. I have not been there in a long time! Same with Siena--the Toscana is breathtaking!

No, this trip we are only here, but we have been invited to Cinque Terre for the weekend. That is supposed to be lovely, so I am looking forward to that!

The next stop on this trip after Italy will be Vienna.

What kind of work do you do where you are able to travel so much. It must be so exciting!

Thanks a lot for your encouraging words!

The LJ is a nice break from sitting and figuring out the intricacies of EU regulations and this project may well be a bear!

I work in international management consulting. This is for a big EU and US joint project in the sciences. If we win it I'll be here a lot!

Have a great day!

Ahhhh....no wonder you are traveling so much then, makes sense.

I would imagine would be a nice distraction from your work...it must get quite intense at times. Enjoy your stay in Italy...and I'll look forward to more photos :)

This is one of the things I love about LJ - the ability to be transported to another part of the world, even if just for a few minutes, by wonderful images and the kindness of the photographer for posting them.

This is a real treat. Many, many thanks!

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words!

I really appreciate it, as the LJ is a nice break for me from the current project, and your words help me feel it's all a good thing . . .!

But I must say if we win this project
A) I will be speaking fluent Italian
B) You will be tormented by Euro-pix!

Have a great day!

As long as you'll continue to (please!) write in English, you'll have a very, very hard tormenting me enough with Euro-pix!

Many, many thanks!

Maybe I'll pepper my English with foreign phrases to get that Euro-thing going . . .;-)))

But watch out because at the end of the workday here will come more euro-pix!

Again, thanks lots for your encouragement!
