I feel your pain about governor's school. Except replace waitlisted with rejected. I wasn't sure I wanted to sacrifice that much of summer just to write, so subconsciously, I wrote a horrible story... and needless to say, I got rejected with the power of ten men.

we should just start our own "too cool for govie's school" group.

Its not easy to deal with disappointment, especially when you work as hard as you do to succeed. First of all, don't lose hope in governors school. You could still be admitted. Second of all, everythin you are doing will pay off when you get into school. Of all the things I've learned with going to college, I know that college isn't necessarily where you go, but what you make of it. You can make a difference and succeed at whatever school you go to, and you will because thats the kind of person you are. You are talented, intelligent, charismatic and determined, and you will do well in life, despite any setbacks that come your way. If you ever want to talk, I'm here...just don't be so hard on yourself.

I can sympathize with being overwhelmed with activities and such in high school. All I can tell you is not to worry; you'll love whatever college you end up going to, and end up thinking of all better, more prestigious schools not worth it (ahem, duke). Also, you'll immediately lower your standards for grades, because they're not that important as long as you're a pretty good student. And everything's fun, all the time.

So quit your bitching.

(also, from reading those other comments, it's clear that dan's a much better friend to you than stupid, thoughtful ricki)
