Seaman Shaw and the end of the World
So I don't get news as easily as I used to, but I heard about the whole thing with Japan. Wow. If I'm correct we're supposed to be trying to send some help over to Japan? Not to mention that we've got Qadafi stirring up trouble in Libya refusing to step down and Iran sending ships over to Israel to provoke them and our President has not taken the military option off the table.
Wow.
Then I remember that America is the world's police. Is it because we have the largest army? No. China wins that. Is it because we have the most high tech Air Force? Not so much. You know what makes us the World's Police? Our Navy. Not trying to boast or anything. It's just a fact. We can deploy anywhere in the world in a matter of moments. We roam the seven seas kicking butt and taking names. Nine times out of ten our pens have run out of ink. I haven't drunk the Kool-Aid, as my sister would say. It's just how we roll. It's what made Britain great in it's hay day. It also cost a hell of a lot. It also made them responsible for bringing the "British Civility" to the "dark" corners of the world. England's no longer such a world power. They just roll out with us when we do our thing.
I write this as I train in Sub School. Soon I'll help my country do what we do while we're underwater. What that is I can't discuss here. Yet I see the clouds gathering on the horizon as I prep to set sail next year. Does this mean I'll be doing active "warfare" on par with Crimson Tide? Probably not. My dad said something to me last week when I asked him how he felt about my decision:"You're on a Sub. You'll run your drills, maybe listen out for stuff. The only thing to worry about is if something breaks down in the boat, and if it goes bad, there's really nothing you can do. At least you wont suffer. If you actually do any "fighting" then we're REALLY at war and it's almost the end anyway."
Fatalistic perhaps, yet I think he hits the nail on the head. There is a bit more that I'll be doing beyond drills which as stated previously I can't discuss. Gasp! Does this mean censorship upon the words of k5h4w? Unfortunately yes. Yet we've been through this after last years fiasco with "Rachel" and her family.
In any case, does anyone else feel like Obama is just getting one hell of a feces-storm during his administration? Not to mention the Wisconsin hullabaloo and what's building in other states? Crazy. I keep sayin it. If the world ends during this man's administration it just show that the G-d must be a Southern Redneck and Uncle Ruckus was right about everything.
Well that's all the heresy I have for today. Look out for a back dated post around the 7th or so of January for a look at Boot Camp. I'll try to get that up. As always I'm k5h4w and you've just been Kreemed. You're welcome.
