Ultra Conservatives, passive aggressive rudness, and Glenn Beck a non-Adventist "Shepard's Rod"?

Mar 11, 2010 20:56

Ya 'm going for longer titles. Pretty soon the entire post will be in my Title.

In all seriousness (well, maybe not all) I had a lot to go over and since I don't do back to back posts this was to me the best way to get things done. So I'll address the Ultra conservatives and their in ability to be well... conservative.

Normally a conservative is somewhat restrained in their decorum, in speech, in action. They aren't taken with radical or off-hand free expression since that would be well... liberal. I know a lot of conservatives would disagree with the very idea of class warfare, but lets be honest. There's a certain way that a person should act, hence why bad behavior is called "low class". I honestly think that this is how some (not all) people on the far right are acting, as if they are "low class" or "have no class". Am I against Conservative ideas or ideologies? Not in general. Conservativisim is necessary for a balanced system in the same way the earth is balanced between acids and alkalines.

Now it could be that the "ultra-conservatives" we've heard in the news, and seen "representing" folks like the Tea Party (the band is so much cooler) are actually not representative of the ranks that normally are socio-economic conservatives. The big thing is that they aspire to be, and are thus willing to go to whatever lengths are necessary to preserve benefits for a lifestyle... that doesn't exist... at least not for themselves.

This makes as much sense as the house slave who supports social injustices against his fellow slaves, that keeps them enslaved, because he hopes that one day he can own slaves.

At around 50 B.C.E. well before Messiah was born, two schools of thought in Pharisaic Judaisim were born, the school of Shemi and the school of Hillel. The school of Shemi was waaaay more conservative. It's a lot of these folks that Messiah was decrying in the gospels. Socio-economically they were the wealthy landowners, the Jewish Aristocracy. I'm not saying they were on the wrong side of the fence or something. I'm just pointing out the fact that they were landowners, or wealthy, and happened to be very conservative. They didn't understand why Y-sh-ah hung out with the dregs of society and walked around like a homeless beggar if He was a prophet capable of such works of HaShem as He was.  Why? Conservatives ACT a certain way, namely: LIKE THEY HAVE CLASS.
Yet we see case after case where... Here, let me give you an example. "To the extent the State of the Union has degenerated into a political pep rally, I'm not sure why we're there [...] there is the issue of the setting, the circumstances and the decorum. The image of having the members of one branch of government standing up, literally surrounding the Supreme Court, cheering and hollering while the court - according the requirements of protocol - has to sit there expressionless, I think is very troubling." - Head Supreme Court Justice Roberts, University of Alabama 3/09/10
The statement to which roberts is refering? In Obama's State of the Union Address this past January, Obama stated this: "With all due deference to the separation of powers, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests - including foreign corporations - to spend without limit in our elections," Obama said
I've heard conservatives rant and rave against Judges legislating from the bench. Here is Roberts doing that very thing and when the President calls the court on it, the response is that Obama has turned the State of the Union address into a pep rally? Well, I find fault with that since I remember Bush's final State of the Union address clearly and well... it was a pep rally for America. Which isn't a bad thing.

Yet I see something showing, seriously sinister, several sinuous seemings seperating society's sensibilities.

Remember South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson? He's the guy who shouted out "Liar!" during Obama's address on Health Care. The President was (at that point) addressing the question of whether illegals would be covered under the reform bill. Fact check organizations have shown that the President was correct in his statement that they wouldn't be covered (even though our current broken system does provde for health care for illegals so I guess Wilson was *for* health coverage for illegals?). Yet in the middle of the President's address he shouts out Liar? Then you see the countless tea party posters lickening Obama to Hussein or Hitler. A statement that Obama's administration is the equivalent of Hitler's ovens? Really?

Notice... you didn't see any of this during the last administration. In fact, if you so much as took a stand or spoke out against the Cheney... ahem, my apologies, the Bush Administration, you were labeled as "unAmerican". News outlets cowered in fear and what possible abuses of the Patriot Act lay waiting. This i a vast differance to today where CNN is constantly airing segments on our "broken government".

You know it reminds me of something(cause black folk can be guilty of it too). There's this preconception that once you have someone black in charge everything goes to hell. Manners, proper decorum, cease. Why? Cus homey we funna chill now! Anyone remember the travesty of Soul Plane? A black business man starts an airline and this ensues:

Yes, Snoop and Method Man will be your
Captains this evening. In the case of an
emergency blunts will descend from the
overhead.

Or How about undercover brother? You have the black equivalent of Mission Impossible and what do you get? This crazyness:

Where was that hot sauce squirting watch
when I was at Andrews?

So I guess public figures just thought "These are the Jimmy Carter years... the sequal!" Of course we all know sequals are nothing more than the same movie. Just More! What I'm saying is that the media and perhaps blacks themselves have given us all this idea that just cus a black person's in charge, it's party time.

Glenn Beck. No transition. I'm just trying to finish at this point cus I can go on.
For those of you who are not Seventh Day Adventists understand what a Shepard's rod is. They're off shoots from the SDA church that refuse to return tithe to any Adventist Church. Yet still wish to worship in our congregations and sow seeds of dissenion within our ranks all the time. One popular Shepard's rod? David Koresh, you know, the Waco guy? He was branch "Davidian" of these guys. Why do I liken Glenn Beck to these yahoos? (Yes I said yahoo, their parasites on the denomination- I have stronger words but this is a public forum) Well, recently Glenn Beck had this to say: I’m begging you, your right to religion and freedom to exercise religion and read all of the passages of the Bible as you want to read them and as your church wants to preach them . . . are going to come under the ropes in the next year. If it lasts that long it will be the next year. I beg you, look for the words ’social justice’ or ‘economic justice’ on your church Web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can. Social justice and economic justice, they are code words. Now, am I advising people to leave their church? Yes!”
Now normally, I appreciate... or at one time I did appreciate some of Becks stand points. He was a good counterpoint. Then... I'm lost I don't know what happened. Maybe we should throw salt down his throat? See if he's demon posessed? I don't know. He's just gone off the deep end. A lot of religious folks have taclked this... I'm gonna come at it from an Adventist with tada! Ellen White. Yes... I pulled out the EGW shotgun. Why? besides the entire *chapter* she has set apart for it in "A Call to Stand Apart" (chapter 15) she quotes directly from the Prophets and from Y-sh-ah himself. Check Isa. 58 6-8:Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward
Or how about Matt 25:31-46?When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
Okay maybe I shouldn't have gone J-s-sy on you folks, but while you may not believe it's the governement's job to handle the socio-economic injustices of this world, the one damn place in the world should be getting something done IS THE CHURCH!!!

!!!! Blast it all.

Okay. I'm done. Wait... !!!!!!!! There. Now I'm done.

race, conspiracy, obama, money, politics, sociology, religion
