A bit behind on my Game of Thrones posts, but I just have to put down some notes about the third episode to…
Some stuff has happened with kiddo, but I’ll make a special post about that after this. :-P
Onwards to Game of Thrones!
[All the spoilers behind this spoiler-cut! BE WARNED!!!]So it finally happened… Jon and Daenerys finally meet. And it was a good meeting, I think. Could really tell the differences between the characters, both good and bad. I don’t know what it is with Daenerys this season but… I don’t like her quite as much. Less sympathetic than she’s been in previous seasons, maybe?
I do confuse myself though, because I’ve really not liked Jon Snow this WHOLE SERIES!!! No joke. He is so damn dull, it annoys me. But during this meeting, I was definitely on Jon’s side. Jon’s and Ser Davos. Damn I do love Ser Davos though! And the way Jon was presented by him after Daenerys LOOOOONG list of titles made me laugh out loud. “This is Jon Snow… King of the North…” X-D Hilarious!!!
The meeting I most looked for actually, when it came to Dragonstone, was the meeting between Tyrion and Jon. And it was just as cute and a little touching as I’d hoped for. :-) In different circumstances, I’m sure those two could have been great friends. Let’s hope they continue to be on the same side, at least.
Euron Greyjoy is such a creep, I kinda like him. Damn, did he get under Jamie’s skin! It was a joy to see. Not that I dislike Jamie, not at all. But I think he needed to hear it.
Talking about Euron and Jamie, holy shit is Cersie out of control! She’s really let go of everything that held her back, and now she’s gone absolut batshit! Doesn’t care about anything but staying as queen and to do whatever the hell she wants. Like fucking her brother and not hiding it, maybe..? *shakes head* Wow, I say…
I do like that about Cersie in a way though. She doesn’t let ANYTHING restrain her! She’s a pretty badass and interesting character that way. :-)
The weakest link about this episode though is… the grayscale. That apparently you can cure over night. If you just follow the instructions. What? Up until now that illness has been presented as a sure death sentence, and now Sam Tarley can cure it over night by just following the instructions. And Jorah neither look worn or beaten after having half his skin cut off! The night before, or so it looks like! WTH? So that was a bit of a failure there… Although I will admit I was glad to see that Jorah is back on his feet. I do like him quite a bit.
And poor Theon… I understand why the Greyjoy fleet didn’t believe him. They’ve shown with all clearity they’re Yara’s men, not Theon’s. Poor guy. I do believe he still has a part to play though… Question is, what kind?
Greyworm survived the taking of Castelry Rock! YAY! Gorgeous place, btw. To bad it was just a decoy. Since Jamie and Bronn with the Lannister Army took Highgarden instead… Oops? Not as clever as you thought you were there, Tyrion?
I get why Cersie would send Jamie to attack Highgarden though. They have gold and grain. So she can have her own army going AND pay back her loan to the Ironbank. Two birds with one stone.
And then there’s the best scene of the whole episode in my opinion. The meeting between Olenna Tyrell and Jamie. Jamie is trying to be a good guy and succeeds fairly well. But the look on his face after Olenna has taken her poison and she tells him it was SHE who orchestrad the murder of Joffrey…. WOW… All of that scene was just… perfection. I’ll miss Olenna something terrible. What a woman she was!!!
