I survived! And it, literary... ROCKED!

Sweden Rock Festival is one HELL of a festival! And, as I learned, is perfect for a festival-beginner like myself. :-) Since the average age at the festival was... 37. So there were a lot of older people there. And families. I saw a lot of prams and young kids. They have this rule that you can't bring kids under the age of 3. And if you have kids ( Read more... )

It was incredible, the whole sea of people singing along with Vince. I've never been a part of something like that before.

Sure, they're getting old, but I don't regret going to see them for a second. :-) It was amazing! So awesome!

Jfc. Dokken is still around? LOL... They were big here in the 80s for a bit, then kind of fizzled out and Don Dokken went solo and that didn't go anywhere etc etc. Memory lane there!

They are indeed! *lol* I had never heard them at least, or maybe I have and never remembered the name. That's usually how it goes with me. :-) I liked them though! Perfect to sit in the grass with a cold cider and listen to. Was so lovely!

Great write up! Thanks for sharing your fun with us.

I was surprised you didn't know Dokken. They were pretty big here, as volare said. I've heard of Opeth, not a fan, really. Wasn't familiar with anyone else you mentioned besides Motley, of course. Sounds like a great experience. (Yes, I def can say I look back on a few rock concerts fondly. ;)

I think you'd like Backyard Babies, so do check them out online! They're really good! And Dregen is... quite handsome. In a rocker kind of way. ;-)

Dokken was great to listen to while sitting on the grass, watching people and drinking cider. Was really lovely!

Good to hear I'm not the only one who didn't like Opeth. :-P

Watching Mötley was... incredible. I had that 'they're really real!' moment when they ran on stage! X-D And being a part of a sea of people singing along to Home Sweet Home is a memory I'll carry with me long. :-D

I guess it depends on what festival you go to. :-) This one, what with the high avarage age, was very calm. No fighting. And I stayed at the calmest camp site to, so all in all I did my best to have a good experience. And it payed off! :-D

Ah... Well, that's a shame. :-/ I am quite the opposite. I can really enjoy sitting in the middle of a ton of people and just enjoy people watching or listening to what people are saying and make up little stories in my head or watch interersting clothing and just... be. :-) I'm weird like that, I guess.

I did indeed. :-) I am even considering taking Alexandra when she's older since it's such a relaxed festival. :-)

-Totally agree with the hearing rules. Very smart: parents can still come, and keep their kids, and not worry about a sitter, but kids safety comes first. Good old Sweden ( ... )
