Four years ago I was
all over screaming about politics and the election and blah blah blah. This year I've taken a much more head-in-the-sand attitude because it all just hurts my soul. I'm ridiculously non-confrontational and unlikely to engage in non-lolzy debate, but I like keeping people informed so... here's my deal:
I'm a registered Democrat, I voted Obama in the NJ primary. I'm socially and economically liberal with a conservative hanging-judge take on the justice system. So I'm pro-choice, pro-gay unions, pro-universal health care, but also pro-gun (so long as we recognize that this is the 21st century and guns and their uses have, you know, changed) and pro-capital punishment. I am all for the legalization of drugs and prostitution so long as we a.) regulate it and b.) tax the hell out of it. I'm in favor of the war in Afghanistan and against the war in Iraq. If the Reform Party still existed I'd be all over that.
I like wind farms and biofuels and mass transit. I like Jon Stewart and Keith Olbermann and Stephen Colbert. I was in Florida for 2000 and 2004 and I know damn well who I voted for.
In conclusion: I like pistachios. And on a wankmongering bitchy note I am highly entertained that McCain's VP choice
already has a scandal. I'm also amused by people going "Ha! She only has a year of executive experience!" "Ha! That's a year more than your guy!" "...your guy, too." "...oh. Ha! Dumbocrats! Libs libs libs!" "*sigh*"
