last.fm/music, 2 much txting, soap & thrifting, free iced coffee day!

Everything with last.fm ended up getting sorted out, after my last utterly frustrated post on the topic. :P So if you want to put me on your friends list over there or whatever, my profile is here: daughtercell. I've got some embarrassing crap on my top 50 most-listened-to artists, like the Backstreet Boys and Creed. Haha. The last.fm client pulled that info from Winamp: while I *do* listen to both of those "artists" on occasion, it's rare that it's actually a whole song. I often put Winamp on shuffle and skip through until I find something that I want to hear, and sometimes Winamp will record just a few seconds' worth of play into an entire play. Oh well.

phuzzydee made me a CD with some music from the Juno soundtrack on it. I can't stop listening to Sonic Youth's cover of "Superstar" by The Carpenters. It's so lush and sweeping, yet sort of dark... it makes me think of a humid, overcast summer day full of longing. ♥

Random note: you know you've been doing too much text messaging when you begin making mental associations to other T9 suggestions about words you think, or say, or type on a computer. For the past couple weeks I've been thinking of the word "of" whenever I type/say/think "me," because that's what my phone suggests first when I try to type "me". Annoying!

Tuesday I drove to Oswego. I stopped at Sallye Ander Soaps & Gifts and picked up five different bars of soap. I'd only used their "Milk & Mint" scent before and I liked it a lot, and I figured now that I'm getting all into this hippie shit (haha), buying some of their yummy handmade soap would be fun. :D I got the following scents: Cedar, Peppermint, Clove, Patchouli, and Lavender. They're all sitting in a bag next to me on the bed and the cedar scent is all I can smell. Mmm.

Then I stopped at a thrift store there that I hadn't been to in several years. I keep getting the itch to get new clothes, and I've been getting rid of a ton of old ones that I haven't worn or have just gotten sick of... so the thrift store is a good place for me to find some interesting stuff for cheap. I found this wicked cool brown long-sleeved utilitarian type shirt (it's got pockets all over the place) that I'm really excited about. It's quite thick so I could probably use it as a sort of light jacket or something.

After that I wanted to drive around Oswego a bit--go to the park by the lake (there's a really pretty one with a view of a little tiny lighthouse) and read or something--but I got confused and a little frustrated by the detour signs that were posted to redirect traffic from going over the bridge on 104, and just decided to take the longish way back to Fulton, through Hannibal. On the way back I took my car through the automatic car wash because it was fucking filthy, and came home.

And I don't really have much more to talk about right now. Haha. I'm boring. :)

Tomorrow, though (well actually technically today at this point--Thursday the 15th), is FREE ICED COFFEE DAY AT DUNKIN' DONUTS YES. I've been looking forward to this for like a week now. Hahaha. We have two in my town so I just might hit them both up and get a major caffeine buzz. :D I think I'm going to check out some of the flavored coffees that I've never had before. Usually I just stick to either French Vanilla or Hazelnut.
