I just had my Roman Catholicism class. We introduced ourselves, and why we are taking it. Then the professor, apparently an Irish Catholic lady from Boston, asked us to write down some thoughts about the concept of Grace. Reluctant try and put into words my own vague idea of what grace means, I put down the easy first thought: U2 wrote a song about it. We go around the room, and people volunteer their ideas. And then, what do you know, Mz. Cassidy busts out All That You Can't Leave Behind, and passes out lyrics to what song? Grace.
..I think I'm going to like this class. ;o)
I also had Economics 101 this morning, and Psych 101 after that. Psych is going to be interesting.. I don't know ANYTHING about it, and the concepts she mentioned today about free will and detirminism are ones I've never dealt with before: coOol. Yesterday I had my Intermediate Spanish 2 class. The teacher spoke in Spanish, and we did one or two group activities. I understood everything that was said, but I don't think I could verbalize MY thoughts like that.. hopefully I'll get into it as the semester goes on. The only class left that I havent had yet is called Major Religious Thinkers of the West. I think we'll be going over people like Augustine and Aquinas and such.. it sounds interesting. I'm exciteddd! For this semester, and for interesting classes.
I have SOOOO MANNY BOOKS to buy! And they're ridiculously expensive. Last semester I bought them all used from the bookstore, and was like "eh, whatever." But now they don't HAVE many used books at the bookstore, and I'm reluctant to just go and buy everything brand spanking bank account hollowing new. This is my money we're talking about... bah. :/
I ordered my flute earlier this week. It's not actually in stock, but it should be by next week. That means I'll have it in about two weeks :o)
Which should be in time for this classical concert thing some of us are doing on Feb 17.
UHhH. I'm working a show at the arts center practically every night this week from 7 to 11. (Like that Led Zepellin song). Actually, today it might be 6.. and yesterday I got out at 12. And fricking, I have to work my normal daily shift today too.. so I'll be there from 1:30- 4:30 doing the standard techie stuff, and 6- ??? doing the lightboard.
It's weird to see so many people back from being abroad. Nice, too, to be in new classes and be able to meet new people. I actually have more freshmen in my classes this semester. Nicole's in psych with me, Matt from upstairs is in Roman Cath., and Kelsey from down the hall, though I don't know her too well, is in Spanish. AND Cindy is in Econ. And all the guided studies kids will be in the last one, along with cool junior religion majors like Liz Moore and Trevor :o)
There are two topics I want to write major entries about, those being JELLOH- this program I participated in last week- and a general outline of my winter break activities, lest I forget them. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll have the time for that stuff! Not to mention getting books/notebooks, doing work.. I hope I figure all of this out soon!
Stupid work. But whoa, imagine what kind of paycheck I'm getting! 7.70 times. . . . Hmm, maybe I shouldn't be so stingy about those textbooks.
BYEEEE! Talk to me!
And shit, I need lunch. Where did I put my ID?
