Shiori is awesome and imports a turkey from Australia I think.
She also makes a mean pumpkin pie. Very yummy.
My contribution to the meal was an apple crumble (since I can't make pie).
But yes, now it's December so that meant I could put up my Christmas tree today! So here it is!
It's in a different place this year because my desk is where is was last year! I still have room to walk past it, but it sits a distance from the sliding door to make sure it doesn't get hit when the door opens. Unfortunately there is nowhere else I could put it because it would mean trailing the cable for the lights all over the room. There is also some tinsel around the room. Not loads, but enough for me.
Also, I have posted my Christmas cards already. If you have received one from me in the past then you've probably got one coming to you! With luck they will arrive this week!
One more also, I really enjoyed the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special. Sure it was a bit convoluted and... wibbly wobbly timey wimey... but still buckets of fun! I'm very much looking forward to the Christmas special, not because we're saying goodbye to Matt Smith, I've enjoyed his run as the Doctor, but because we are getting an "old" doctor for the first time in my life. Which fits with the theory of "the Doctor was being childish because he didn't want to think about the bad thing he'd done" and the young actors being the visible representation of this. Of course, we'll probably never know if this is the actual case. But I like the theory.
Finally, things are good with Ryosuke. We actually have Christmas AND New Year planned out, which is pretty impressive compared with the disaster that was last year. Had a minor blip when he admitted to smoking again while on holiday, but he said he felt bad and that he hasn't had one since he got back. I can deal with this as long as it isn't something that happens every time he goes away on a surfing trip. So we shall see. I hope it doesn't become an issue - since he gave up smoking before I came along, I hope I am another incentive for him to not start up again.
