Junnosuke stared at his son. From the moment he was born he had always held a special place in his heart. That wasn’t to say that he didn’t love his son Jun just as much but Kazu was the eldest by two hours. Kazuko had been so exhausted and in pain that he had been the one to hold Kazunari first and the moment his eyes had settled on him and his tiny little fingers had wrapped around his he had known what it was like to experience falling in love at first sight. As the twins had grown he had been delighted that Kazunari had developed his musical ear and would love to sit on his lap as he played and sang. It had helped develop a special bond between just them so when his darling son had been rushed into hospital it had been like the world had completely shifted on its axis. It was something that had never gone away.
Every time he looked at his son or watched him take his medication he was reminded of the fact that at any moment Kazunari could be taken away from him. He wasn’t as controlling as Jun was though wanting Kazunari to be able to experience life. More so after Masaki had come to them and told them that they were stifling him so much that it made him wonder if life was even worth living. He had figured out that his son was gay when he had flushed over a handsome male nurse once and he had accepted it easily though he had been worried that he might meet somebody that wasn’t right for him.
His attitude towards Ohno Satoshi stemmed from the way he had seen the young man looking at Kazunari and in turn the way that Kazunari had looked at him. Satoshi had looked at Kazunari as though he was the centre of his world. His eyes had been gentle searching his face for signs of distress and in turn Kazunari’s face had relaxed completely when he saw him standing there in the foyer. The young man was rough around the ages and there was little doubt in his mind that there was some sort of criminal past there but that didn’t bother him as much as the fact that it was clear that he was in love with his son and that Kazunari was in love with him.
His wife would say that he was jealous that his precious son was already being swept along by somebody else and he knew that she would be right, as always, but that didn’t stop him from feeling guilty that he had been behaving so cruelly. If Kazunari was telling the truth, then Satoshi had wanted this meeting so he could make sure that he was doing what was best for Kazunari and that meant that he was at least trying to do the right thing. It was probable that it was Kazunari’s fault that they had gone to the lake as he knew that his son continuously pushed the boundaries of what he could and couldn’t do.
Normally it was okay because Sho and Masaki were with him, like this time, but Junnosuke knew that he was being grumpy only because this was Kazunari’s boyfriend and not just his friend. Sighing he allowed his face to relax out of his scowl as he dipped his head in apology.
“Sorry…I didn’t mean to be rude…” He murmured and Kazuko gave a chuckle sipping her wine a little before saying;
“You’ll have to forgive him, Satoshi-kun…He’s just jealous that you are taking Kazu’s affections away from him…”
“…Shall we start again? I’m Matsumoto-Ninomiya Junnosuke…”
