The drive to Llanbrynmir from Cardiff was long, made even longer by the amount of stops they took so they could take pictures of all of the beautiful country side. Wales was indeed the most beautiful country even if it did have a high number of sheep and the high chance of raining. As it was the rain clouds had blown completely away leaving them with blue skies and fluffy little clouds that seemed so delicate that they had to be made of spun sugar or cotton. The blue contrasted against the green of the rolling hills and the grey of the slate made it impossible not to stop in the numerous laybys and parking spots. Masaki was more than happy to listen to Sho reading things out from a travel book telling him the history of the areas that they were in and he didn’t have the heart to tell him that he was just like his grandfather and that Shu had bought the same book that Sho had. He was still reeling from the shock that Sho was his boyfriend. His honest and true boyfriend. It seemed like something out of a dream and he couldn’t resist the urge to keep pinching himself to make sure that it was real and not some dream brought about by jet leg.
“Merlin’s stone is meant to be nearby…” Sho said suddenly his hand coming to rest on his knee jerking him in the seat of the rented 4x4. “Do you want to go look at it?”
“…Sure…We can’t get the key to the cottage until 4…” Masaki hummed with a smile that thinking about the cottage always brought. It was a dinky place down a bank off of the road next to a stream and an overflow waterfall. The main area of the cottage, the dining room, sitting area and guest bedroom was all original while the living room, kitchen and conservatory were all add-ons but no less beautiful. He had been both surprised and happy that the cottage that he had gone to with Shu was the same one that Sho remembered from trips with his grandfather meaning that they had similar happy memories of the place. There was no internet or even mobile signal but the peace and quiet was something that money couldn’t buy and there was something amazing about waking up in the morning and making yourself a drink before going and sitting in the conservatory watching the birds playing on the water of the stream.
“I can’t believe that the cottage is still running…” Sho chuckled saying the same thing that he had been saying since finding out and Masaki smiled a little before looking out of the window at the steep slopes at the side of him feeling as though the ground had just slipped away. Slate walls were dotted here and there but they really didn’t seem to be doing anything much to keep in the little baby sheep and their mothers who were going where ever they liked. Eventually they came to a carpark of a shop in a large former barn and they got out of the car to stretch out their legs and their backs a little. “I think you have to walk up that track in between the trees to get to the stone…Wanna do it?”
“That’s why we came ne?” Masaki asked with a grin and Sho nodded locking the car and waiting for him to come around so he could take his hand firmly in his own and lead him down to a gate which led down a track alongside a stream and another field until they reached another gate which had a sign reminding them that the local pagans and druids used the site and to be respectful. The stone itself wasn’t actually all that impressive to Masaki…It was about the same height as himself and twice as large standing straight up into the air but he couldn’t see why it was so impressive for Sho though he seemed bewitched and Masaki found it more fun to watch him than the stone.

A/N: Okay…I love Wales : If I ever could I would move there :) the cottage is real, it’s owned (At this moment) by a very lovely couple who were friends of my grandmother’s. The wife of the couple was born in it and now lives across the road. Unfortunately, she will be giving it up soon due to old age L Merlin’s stone is also real, if you are ever in Wales you should go check it out though remember that it is a religious site and people still use it as such :)
Also I’m sorry for how long this chapter took >< I am trying to get back into the swing of things…
