* DIRECTIONS: Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions. Include this explanation. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.
Minjia's questions
1) So how come you didn't turn up today? Student forum was actually decent.
I have an attachment to IMCB (Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology), which lasts from Monday to Wednesday. Haha thank goodness, I hope you didn't kill my fellow Excos.. RAWR.
2) Errr. On a scale of one to ten, how patriotic are you?
Between eight to nine, I believe. I'm quite patriotic, but I woudn't really know unless I were a man and had to serve NS..
3) Hotdogs or sausages? Shush, there /is/ a difference.
Sausages! When hotdogs are the ones which consist of bread + sausage + (choice of sauces), I presume. If so then yeah, sausages it is for me.. however, some sausages can be really salty on their own. In that case, I'd prefer a hotdog.
4) Your thoughts on gossiping?
I dislike it, although I do it sometimes as well. Gossiping is basically talking about things that concern others which are meant to be private, or that are sensitive in nature, so I believe that gossiping hurts the other party and isn't constructive, and thereby, should not be practised. In social situations where gossiping is the only avenue of entertainment and not gossiping would result in silence, I know not gossiping is hard. That's why I'm trying to change this bad habit of mine too.
5) Your stance on the Da Vinci Code?
(I assume 'Da Vinci Code' as in the book, since I haven't watched the movie.)
A good, interesting fictional book. If only people treated it as a fictional book, as it was meant to be in the first place. That's how all the controversy came about anyway.
However, I do dislike the part in the front where Dan Brown says that "All descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents and secret rituals in this novel are accurate." It makes it seem as if whatever that's in the book is true, though it might not be. Like, for instance, the documents (I forgot what they were about) that certain things were based on were actually faked documents, though Dan Brown did not mention it anywhere in the book at all, thus causing people to believe in this fiction. Of course, being a christian, it's terribly difficult to look at this objectively, but this is the best I can make it. (:
Jolynn's questions
1) This question, due to its sensitive nature, will not be answered here, thank you very much.
2) If you could learn any language, which language would you want to learn and why?
Japanese, because it's a very fascinating language to me. And since I've always wanted to go to Japan, it would be very useful if I had learnt it. The other language I want to learn would be Thai, because I have this bond to Thailand ever since I had gone to Suphanburi for our mission trip last year.
3) What JC/Poly do you wanna go to and why?
Hwa Chong Institution! I like the school spirit there (I'd gone to their campfires & school events before), and I've been influenced by my brother who's in HCI. From my limited knowledge of the JCs in Singapore, I believe that HCI isn't a mugger school and thus I like it since I like learning & active learners (though I can be quite a mugger at times). Then again, I might be wrong, so.. time will tell which I'll go to.
4) Which stream/courses would you pick (in JC/poly) and why?
Physics, Econs, Geography & Math, though I know it's not possible.. Maybe I'll switch Geography with something else. And I choose these because I like the subjects. I also want to take Econs since I might want to do sales/business, and the rest because I have something of a passion for them.
5) Are you going for Day of His Power tomorrow?? Oh oh, and did you fast? And if you did, on what?
Nope, I'm not, seeing how I didn't even know there was such a thing. I had a failed fast from MSN, because I had to go online since I had duties to do and things to discuss with Excos and stuff like that online.
