"Stay, here. Forever."

1) I JUST FINISHED LIFE ON MARS. BEST FINALE OF MY LIFE.

I really adored this show. It was quirky and funny and serious all at the same time. And yes, it was another cop show, but they kept it fresh and new and not entirely procedural. All the characters were amazing in every way.

Sam Tyler: He made for a brilliant main character. And John Simm is so immensely talented. I loved that he felt a little less 'perfect' than the usual lead characters do. This world was far less black-and-white, right-and-wrong as the usual law shows go. He was always wallowing in the morally gray area, and being forced to make decisions without knowing the full consequences. He would try to stay detached, but he fell into the traps all of us fall into, and he made mistakes. It was hard for him to come to terms with the fact that everything doesn't always work out perfectly.

And being inside his head is like a trip on acid (the girl with the clown scared the shit out of me). Both the character and the viewer are in the same boat the whole time: completely lost. Not only because we don't understand the time period, but because we don't know why he's there, either, or exactly why. It kept me on my toes the entire time, trying to figure out the whole riddle before it was revealed.

Gene Hunt: He was my favorite character. Dead serious. He was stubborn and determined and hilarious and brilliantly flawed. And even though he was crass and rude and did lots of things without really thinking them through, he always, always had the city and the people's best interests at heart. He was committed to his job and to his team, and he cared about all of them more than he'd ever admit. And with Sam around, everything really fell into place and with the two of their methods working together, they were an unstoppable force.

Annie Cartwright: Annie added such an important dynamic to the show because of what she was to Sam. He could talk to her and trust her, and he cared about her a lot. And she was always honest with him, which was what I loved about her. She didn't want him entertaining ideas that she thought were insane. Instead, she wanted to help him. And she wasn't too afraid to tell him that she wanted him to stay. Forever. (Also, she was gorgeous. ♥)

Chris Skelton: I LOVED THIS GUY SO MUCH. I loved how innocent and gullible and naive he was. He was adorable. I loved that he could kind of see that Gene's methods were too harsh, and he started looking to Sam as a kind of mentor to him. And he was fabulous for comic relief! :D

Ray Carling: Ray was such a wonderful character. He was such a prick, but then they'd show a new side of him. (I just wanted to hug the poor bastard after the car explosion.) He was a lot like Gene, rude and loud and angry, but he did love his job and was loyal until the very end, and that's what made him brilliant.

So, yes. I LOVED THE SHOW. You should all watch it and love it, too. ♥
(I'm going to go gather me some icons later today.)

2) Is the cast of Private Practice allowed to be this pretty?!

3) AP assignments are still the devil. I don't want to write multiple-choice questions, damnit! D:

4) I have a job interview on Tuesday. I'm kind of nervous, but excited. I really, really need a job.

5) I'm going to go be productive now. I hope.
