How am I going to want to leave France now?
So I've moved to the French countryside...where exactly, I won't say for obvious reasons. It is beautiful out here. My room is gigantic and my apartment leads out onto the terrace overlooking the garden, which overlooks the rolling hills of the rest of the countryside. I woke up this morning with the sun shining brightly into my room. I didn't close my shutters to be woken up like that on purpose. It's pretty ridiculous. I have a fireplace in my room, antiques in the kitchen, I really couldn't ask for much more. The couple I live with are fantastic artists and my new job is going to be great I think.
The town I live in is so small. There is no transport in or out of the town on Saturdays and Sundays. There is one of everything, but very small and very limited, ie: one tabac/brasserie/bar. I'm actually having a hell of a time trying to figure out how Paolo is going to get here. There is a lakeside restaurant at the bottom of the hill and a farmers market every Thursday morning. I took the bus this morning to a bigger town to get to this huge farmers market. There was such variety in cheeses, seafood, veg and fruit. Everything was so fresh and local. After shopping strictly in markets for the past few months, I think I'm going to try to continue it when I get home. I love chatting with the people selling the food.
So far the rest of the students of the school I am working at seem great. Most of them are serious artists who sell their work and have been coming back here to take the courses every year. Oh, as of today, it's exactly 7 weeks until I return...or do I???
