salt water....Mmmmmmmm
I have a sore throat. My right tonsil is hella swollen. I've been stressed, tired, achy, I think I have a constant headache and I think I've been having fevers. So I've been taking Advil and/or Alieve pretty constantly for the past week. I'll schedule an appointment at the health center soon, but I don't have time to miss class, so sorry if I infect anyone and too bad for me if the infection/antibiotics make me feel like poo. I get strep multiple times a year; I wouldn't be surprised if I get my tonsils out sometime.
Before I start, I have a couple of quotes from my Yogi Tea things I'd like to share:
"Be proud of who you are."
"Travel light,
live light,
spread the light,
be the light."
I liked them.
Chris and I went out for Vday today. And yesterday. We were celebrating yesterday because he was suppose to go home for some plans he made today with some important campaign people (he's running for state representative general assembly), but they got canceled. So we went out to his choice, Old Country Buffet, yesterday and today we went to see The Wiz in Erie and went to Smokey Bones afterward.
Chris ended up getting his car hit...his new car! A bunch of Erie roads are two-lane one-ways and the crossing one is multiple lane two-way. Well, we were on a one-way, and went to turn on to the two-way...but we were in the far lane. Mind you, there were no road markings and no signs indicating turning lanes...Chris never drives in downtown Erie. Maybe this stuff is suppose to be common knowledge? Anyway, we were stopped at a red light and we bumped into someone who was in the close lane. We pulled over and thankfully there was not much damage. Chris has a dent less than the size of my hand and some scratches. The other guy's car was less damaged than Chris's, had some scratches, and was barely dented...but you could barely see it. So, Chris goes to talk to the dude and then he comes back to get a pen and his insurance info and says, "Ugh, this guy is saying his shoulder hurts." So they go to exchange info and here the guy had called 911!!! A fire truck, an ambulance, and three cop cars show up! For barely a bump accident! What an asshole. So the guy gets a neck brace and all that crap, meanwhile the ambulance guys, the firemen, and the police are standing there looking at the guy's car shaking their heads. One told Chris that a snow ball would have done more damage. After the lame-dude is taken in an ambulance the cop comes over to finish the report and tells us, "Now, I'm not a doctor so I can't say if this guy is actually hurt or not, but he probably wouldn't be hurt in an accident this minor. Just a heads up... I've been doing this for a while and I'm gonna tell you it looks like he might try to get as much as he can out of you. Call your insurance company as soon as you can, take good photos of your car, and explain what's going on. They know what they are doing and deal with people like this all the time." The cop told Chris what he did wrong as far as his traffic mistake, but didn't cite him...probably because the other guy was being a d-bag. I hope that guy feels like an idiot. And I hope the doctor tells him he's an idiot.
Anyway, Chris is stressed enough and doesn't have to be dealing with this crap.
Other than that, I had a good weekend. Chris is SOOO sweet. He printed a poster at walmart of me and him together and got me a few other little things and a hippie peace/heart necklace. He also cleaned my room while I did my homework upstairs! HE CLEANED MY ROOM! What...how...where....I'd never find ANYONE willing to do that....sigh. I love him.
I am trying to get some work done.
As far as painting, Malcolm and I had a chat. I think I know what I'm doing as my project. I've been a figure painter for three semesters now. So now I'm going to be painting color fields/minimal paintings. Yep. Color fields. LoL. Panels/canvases of solid colors, and very simple geometric shapes. By simple I mean, a white canvas with a small black rectangle in the middle. Among other paintings. My goal is to express the detachment from earthly things, and associations. I don't want people to associate my paintings with a physical thing, but rather, an Idea. I don't want people to be focusing on the paint itself, the surface. I just want them to see the image.
I have a lot of buying of crap to do though....and I don't have much money left. BUT! I have pages of ideas! I'm excited!
Well, better get back to my homework.
Bye kids.
