Palm to Forehead.
I work in a government office that deals with complaints of wrongful dismissals. Here’s one my co-worker just fielded.
Client: Hi I called two weeks ago with an unjust dismissal complaint and nothing’s happened yet. I mean it’s been TWO weeks and no one’s done anything! What’s going on?
Co-Worker: Well we sent you the information and the forms to fill out, did you not receive them?
Client: Oh yeah I got them.
Co-worker: And you've filled them out and sent them back to us?
Client: No. They’re right here in front of me.
*stunned silence*
Co-worker: Um… well we kind of need your complaint information in order to process your complaint.
Client: Oh… Really? I didn’t know that.
If this guy was fired for being a complete dimwit, it might not be so easy to make the case that the employer was wrong. :P
