It's amazing how much flash is used on the web. Anything that seems to animate seems to be done through it, and it's comforting to know how they operate.

Learning all these graphical enhancements has been oddly discomforting for me, and it's only recently dawned on me where it comes from. Having played countless amount of games, the only thing I really look out for is the gameplay. Graphical effects, I've seen them one too many times. They don't add anything to the core gameplay, just fluff. But all of that was muffled under the amazement of the eye candy when I was learning, and now I'm finding myself, very oddly, for eye candy graphics in a game. In a sense, I'm like a doctor who is advocating for plastic surgery after playing around with it, having been against it before. What an odd statement to make!
I gotta get some sleep.

It takes so long for my web browser to start loading content due to me having saved 15-20 or so sites that load when firefox loads. All because I intended to read them once I had time, but diving into so many new things at once will take quite awhile for these pages to slowly get checked off.

I'd also like to note down how easy it is to get a reply back from a small game company, or a personal message to a particular person in a company. So refreshing to hear back, though it's definitely understandable why a big company can't do so, it is still rather cold. Anyways, I mention this because I did get a reply back, and although I've faced many many maaaanny silent rejections and realize I have a very slim chance of getting in, it's still be unbelievable if I could work with Will Wright, the company->think tank that Will Wright is working with and the one that replied back. I should have updated my portfolio/resume... I suppose I'll do that now!
*edit*
holy shit, I double checked the email, and it was replied back 4 minutes after I sent mine in. Wow. I may be far too late to update my stuff if they're that quick.
