Okay. That was my last post about the dog. Promise (unless something really interesting comes up).
Phil is soooo in love with this pup.
After having this pup I could not imagine having a kid and never have to. I am (happily) exhausted taking care of this little thing. :) No wonder parents have no lives.* One thing that a kid has over a dog: baby poops in the diaper and you have a greater means of communicating once the child reaches potty training days. Not saying it is easy.
Morty had his first vet visit yesterday. A little bit of kennel cough, his eyes don't quite shut all the way so he has some eye drops and we took some cautionary skin samples. Otherwise, perfectly healthy. Good weight (a TINY 0.88 kg or 1.94 lbs) and a healthy heart. :) Morty and Phil both tightened up when the thermometer went up his bum. I just laughed. I think the vet visit was more stressful for Phil than the dog. :P
Pacha (the budgie) is REALLY interested in Morty. He is the only one out of the four birds who is taking an interest and he spends a good chunk of his day watching the dog even when he is in his crate. :)
Also - Morty has been great with every person he meets. He happily is picked up by them and will fall asleep on any lap. What a slut. ;)
*I remember this guy who really wanted children and also though he would make a good father. I told him I thought he would make a great father too but upon reflection I changed my mind. He liked to spend a lot of time "alone" doing "alone boy things." I don't know if he would be able to give that up. He also confided that he deep down expected that she would cook dinner and take care of the kids while working a full-time job. Lords help the mother of his children. I am so glad that Phil is willing to help 110% even if it is just a pup.
