Can't complain too much about my week off. I spent most of my time lazing around and doing nothing productive.

TELEVISION
Okay...I tried "True Blood"...yeah it is not bad...alijhwekjnhber. FINE. I will watch you vampire soap opera. Although, I admit I felt a little redeemed when I found out it was the writer responsible for "American Beauty" and "Six Feet Under". Anna Paquin's mouth bugs me though.

Another pleasant surprise was "The Legend of the Seeker" series. It isn't AS bad as I thought it would be. Richard is still emo but I will live with it. I did laugh when his first appearance featured him topless, oiled up and chopping wood. Oh fan service...sigh. It's not just for the boys anymore. I also wish the series could follow the books a little closer but I don't really see how the could make the Mord-Siths (oh you legion-of-red-leather-clad-magical-dominatrix-women-warriors you) tv friendly. Other issues would also be very tricky but at least it is treated with a bit of gravitas. It will be my default "I am really bored and have nothing to do" series.

COMICS
I picked up Greg Rucka's "Final Crisis Revelations" in hard cover (MAN HMV has some SWEET prices on trades) and I am pretty freaking happy with how good it is. I am a big fan of Renee Montoya (The Question) and am enjoying the story of Crsipus Allen as THE SPECTRE. I practically cheered when I read Dr. Light's (Evil Dr. Light. Not Kimiyo Hoshi.) fate. Dude had it coming for a LONG time.

Been partying a bit too with my BCH peeps but keeping it low-key because of illness (spent a few days in bed).

Oh right! Art Jam! I really struggled with this drawing. For some reason when I think "comic book style" I freak out which makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. :S

The Seventh Theme is "The Comic Cover you'd like to see most.

As Gail Simone wrote about on her blog "Women in Refrigerators", it is hard to find a relatable female comic book character. She maintained that while "not every woman in comics has been killed, raped, depowered, crippled, turned evil, maimed, tortured, contracted a disease or had other life-derailing tragedies befall her [...] it's hard to think up exceptions."

I constantly search for female super hero characters which I find relatable and get frustrated that I keep singing the praises of male super heroes. Power Girl lives on her own, is strong, doesn't running around looking for love, and doesn't dress like a teenage goth chick (What happened to you Batwoman?). Sadly, for obvious reasons, Power Girl is the butt of a lot of jokes. I had hoped the new Power Girl series would move away from this a bit especially after her JSA run where they explore her Earth 2 origins, but has thus far, disappointed.

And so, the comic book cover I would most like to see would be "Power Girl: Identity Crisis on Infinite Earths."

***Apologies for the colouring. It looked awful without the splashes of colour but it was rushed.***

Are we even going to see an 8th theme? Darren can you hear me? :S
