Okey...since the cat is out of the bag and someone noticed (thanks Jenny...can't I just have a "quiet" conversation with the guy on Twitter? ;) ), I got a chance to chat with the Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics,
Joe Quesada. I responded to:
"Artist have it easier than writers folks, there's no way to sugar coat it." (Joe Quesada)
with:
@JoeQuesada Man-I loved you for NYX even though ppl call you a jerk For SM (Spider-Man). But for the "writers have it harder" remark, you fail. BIG TIME.
He responded and was kind enough to sit down and chat with me about my views (I believe that both are equally challenged with breaking into the industry because of various factors). BIG SURPRISE and was very hard to keep my inner nerd at bay, silencing the "OMFG - YOU WROTE NYX...I WUV YOU...YOU SORTA ARE RUINING MARVEL RIGHT NOW BUT I LURV YOU!" my fingers desperately wanted to type out. VERY important to try and stay cool in those times. Regardless, I did, for my co-worker, drop something in about the Thor movie.
SO...someday...maybe...I will learn to NOT have lengthy discussions on twitter. :P
My favorite part was someone who msged me after:
"ian_x@Kochachan You do know that @JoeQuesada is both a long-time comics artist and Editor in Chief for Marvel, right? He probably knows."
To which I was a bit snooty, replied:
"Kochachan@ian_x REALLY? I didn't know that. Wow. Do I ever feel dumb. You think he will sign my first printings of NYX now?"
The guy apologized, told me I should still listen to him and I told him I thought it was still to good to question authority. Just because they are in charge doesn't make it right. :P Regardless, fun times.
Yeah...this was a big nerd moment for me...he actually, on his own time, without any requirement to, not at a con, had a conversation with me.
