I actually had 2 interviews yesterday. Both were for hiring companies that are looking to send me for specific positions, and both went pretty well. I panicked slightly since the first one actually checked to see if I knew all the software I said I did (my resume says I know Excel and PowerPoint, and I'd been meaning to learn them, but ...) but I figured them out. I have a follow-up interview with one company tomorrow morning and an interview with the other company on Monday morning, completely in Italian. So we'll see how that goes. Also, the Discovery Channel called and I had a phone interview with them this morning. That would be good, too - I wouldn't have to spend money to get to work. And the Italian company would give me a clothing allowance since they require professional attire at all times and they know whoever has that salary couldn't afford it.
Speaking of professional attire, I had to buy a suit yesterday. Both places told me that I had to have a suit for interveiws, which I kind of figured, but I never got around to getting one. So my mom and I stopped at Wheaton Plaza on the way home and got one. Along with sensible shoes. I know, it's sad. But I have to walk about a half mile to and from the metro every day once I move into Silver Spring and it would be nice to not have to bring flip flops or sneakers with me for the commute to and from work. We'll see how it works. But yeah, I own conservative, business-appropriate shoes now. They have enough of a heel to make me look authoritative and not look retarded with a suit, but they're low enough that I can walk in them easily and don't make me too monstrously tall.
That's about it for now. Wish me luck tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer to whatever higher power you believe in, etc.
