Me and my friend Mayran, who is Somalian, entered a contest called Reel Diversity put on by the NFB and CBC. This is a contest where you submit a proposal for a documentary, they then select 10 people across canada to further develop it.. then they choose 8 to take it even further and then finally they produce 3 for an hour long national spot on CBC television.
The budget can be up to 200,000.
we just made the first cut.
We are one of 10 to develop our project further.
we get paid for the work we do from now until January.
