this morning i woke up to a fire in an apartment across the street.
it was very ironic considering that i left my oven on 2 days ago and was almost certain that my apartment would burn down. it is also seems ironic to me considering that today is the last day for indoor smoking in this state. i dont mean that in a smug and witty way. it really is just ironic and somewhat fucked up.
i am upset that our president always brings the iraq war and 9/11 into places that it shouldnt be. for example, veteran's day. for another example, today, pearl harbor's anniversary. i am not being unsympathetic to the importance of the iraq war or 9/11, but it just seems to cheapen any ounce of sincerity in honoring the memories of veterans and pearl harbor victims/survivors as well as the lives lost in the iraq war and 9/11 by turning a day of remembrance into an opportunity to further a political agenda.
