I'm so behind but wanted to share the links and banners to two of the drabbles I won third place in the ongoing sgahcchallenges Last Fic Writer Standing contest.
and they are really cool banners too! I'm jealous of the skills of the artists - I wanna do stuff like that :( but congrats on the winnings and great to see them.
I made the post just to showcase the banners!! I wish I could do that type of stuff, but then I'd be illustrating my fics and my husband would never see me! lol
Congrats on the wins!!! You deserve it!!! I got booted, but I expected it. I've made a discovery - I cannot write things that short. I don't even get warmed up in 400 words. **shakes head sadly** What's bad is that down deep, I knew that when I signed up for the darn thing. Not making that mistake again. It takes a huge amount of skill to write something meaningful in that few a words - so hats off to you and the other winners!!!
Oh hon, I expect to be booted every round. What this thing has taught me is that I am NOT a short fiction writer. I hate the restrictions and I know that is part of the challenge, and while a moment can be explored, I'm don't think I'm good at doing anything of substance.
I hope for the final rounds whomever is left, is allowed to write longer drabbles. Or if there is a new contest, they think about doing things around 1,000 words.
I just love Ronon and John fics! Love them! Any chance of another short one revealing the moments before this scene happened? Their arrival at and selection of the perfect tree, the climb, the friendly taunting, John's fall, and how Ronon got the seat out and John in the car. I know you have your plate full, though. Nice touch mentioning John's shattered glasses. Ouch! - Diane

I might go back to this story because I couldn't do it justice with so little to work with.
However, I am 4,000 words into my John and Ronon fic. And I mean it's just them and many OC's. I'm expecting it to be around 40k give or take. I'm also planning on doing an online progress report on it like I did for "Through the Looking Glass" because it really helped keep me motivated.
