454: Let's rocket!
My god, lack of KH and Hanna fandom activity has me fandom jumping like crazy. January was Arashi, February was Detective Conan and this month is apparently Astro Boy. The whole 2003 remake streams on Netflix (PS3, what have you done to me?!) and I'm already closing in on the end. Damnit, Astro, STOP BEING SO FREAKIN' CUTE.
Also LOLOLOLOL ROCK, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THIS ISN'T YOUR SERIES, GTFO.
On that note, I've made an interesting discovery about my brother's and my interest in Japan; it's becoming less and less weeaboo and more and more legitimate. Neither of us watch a lot of new anime, but we do watch quite a few current j-dramas. And the anime we do end up interested in is classic, or big even among people who don't like anime. My brother has started watching variety shows for no ulterior motive other than it's entertaining and I've found a fashion magazine to read specifically for the clothes (and I don't mean goth-loli)
But the most startling discovery was when we watched Kohaku this year. A 4 hour long concert, at least half of which is Enka. And we watched all of it. Hell, my brother even goes looking for more Enka and sings it at karaoke!
I used to seriously hate enka guys. Shit just got real.
ANYWAY I'VE GOT FIVE THOUSAND GURREN LAGANN COSTUMES TO MAKE FOR FANIME and I need all the zippers in the world to keep going. Nia has been a piece of cake so far, but Leeron scares the crap outta me. Freakin' purple body suit I don't even BUT OMG SO WORTH IT.
