My god, my brain. It's so, like, broken right now guys.
BTW I FINALLY STARTED STUDYING FOR THE JLPT LOLOLOL.
And by "study" I mean make a catalog of all the kanji I don't know. Because I'm supposed to know 1,000 and I know, uh, maaaaaybe 400? Or something like that apparently, since I passed old level 3 with flying colors. God, and I haven't even LOOKED at the vocab list. (That'll be November harhar *SHOT*)
Anyway, so for now this is my method: Write out each kanji I looked up the day before 5 times, write all the other ones once, make flash cards of two pages worth of kanji (including: the kanji, it's readings, meanings and various compound words involving that kanji), flip through all flash cards once in the morning, once in the evening, listen to only Japanese radio via KeyholeTV, and watch at least one drama (sans subtitles preferred)
NEEDLESS TO SAY, MY BRAIN IS SO BROKEN RIGHT NOW, AND I'VE ONLY BEEN DOING THIS FOR 2 DAYS. But guys I need to pass this test. I fucked up and didn't get any classes at school this semester, so I need to actually GET SOMETHING out of being a フリータ for this long. I'm already mad at myself for waiting this long to get the studying going, so I'm going to be HARDCORE about it to make up for it @__@
Admittedly, getting zero hours at work is very conducive to this process, but UGH, I CAN HARDLY AFFORD DRIVING TO WORK AND BACK. I'VE HAD NO MONEY ALL YEAR. IT IS SERIOUSLY AN ENDLESS CYCLE OF TRYING TO PAY OFF MY CHASE CARD, WHICH IS FULL OF JAPAN EXPENSES (from back in December), BUT THEN HAVING TO USE IT ANYWAY FOR MORE GAS. FUUUUUUUUCK.
So I applied at Staples, which is close to my house. And the Yogurtland by my house is hiring. And Target will probably start hiring temps soon. FUCK YOU, GAMESTOP. I NEED MORE THAN 4 TO 8 HOURS OF WORK A WEEK, OKAY?
In less annoying news, I started watching a bunch of dramas! I joined an LJ community that has downloads of, like, all the drama that are airing, and they have quite a few old ones too. So, woo, mature Japanese exposure to the max!
Since no one cares about dramas but me, I'll put the list of what I'm watching behind a cut.
First, the drama from this season.
Freeta ie wo Kau freaturing Nino!
Nino quits his job after only 3 months and has an early mid-life crisis wherein he just lazes around the house all day. His mother falls ill and Nino gets a part-time job to "build a good house for his family."
Q10 pronounced "kyuuto"
I don't remember the actual plot, but the female lead is actually a robot. Somehow, high school romance ensues.
Nagare Boshi
Soooome dude with money problems? and a prostitute marry solely for the financial benefits but end up falling in love anyway.
Guilty featuring Miho Kanno! (my brother's favorite actress)
Miho is the nicest girl ever, but is framed for her family's murder and sent to jail. After being released she goes in search of revenge of the real killer, while a detective investigates her as a suspect.
And now the older drama I'm finally getting around to watching.
My Girl featuring Aiba!
Aiba has never been able to forget his girlfriend who left him to study abroad. 6 years later, he discovers that she has died in an accident and left behind their 5 year old daughter. Aiba asks his newly discovered daughter to live with him.
Maou featuring Ohno!
I don't actually know the plot, but Ohno is a badass lawyer.
Bambino featuring MatsuJun!
MatsuJun comes to Tokyo from the boondocks to learn to be a chef. Gratuitous amounts of cooking and Italian ensue.
Ryusei no Kizuna featuring Nino!
3 siblings are orphaned when their parents are murdered. Having discovered who was responsible, they set out for revenge.
Liar Game
.... uuuuh, actually I don't know what this one is about, but Meghan-sempai was excited for the movie so I figure I should watch it. (The trailer looked cool.)
Otomen
Main!dude loves sewing, cooking, cleaning and all manner of girly things. But he's not gay, seriously.
Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo
Based on the illustrated essay about Japanese language bits that even Japanese people get wrong; Fashionable Sensei!lady really wants to be a high school teacher, but ends up as a Japanese instructor for foreigners.
..... OMG A POST NOT ABOUT HINABN. Amazing, I know. The "making a million new friends" bit of joining the fandom has finally started to slow down.
