The Classics: A Dream Deferred

Langston Hughes' A Dream Deferred

What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

Serious response: This is as close as I come to posting memes or song lyrics, and I should do it even less often than I do, really.

Silly response: What happens to a dream deferred? It becomes the butt of jokes in its industry, stays in development for over a decade, runs out of funding and gets canceled. I would go on, but after 12 god-damned years, just about every god-damned mocking thing you can say about that god-damned game has already been said. God dammit. It is old enough that we may have nostalgia for the time when it was funny or tasteful to make jokes about it. Fester like a sore and stink like rotten meat, indeed. Or a dead woodchuck under the porch.
